But even stick 5 signings in that team and we’ll win plenty of games. I appreciate we need depth to challenge at the top end.
Its also why i further think we got fleeced for greaves A top cb doesnt just defend well.himself But he makes the backline better too
5? So two to replace Greaves and Jaden (or are we saying McLoughlin is fine at CB?) one to replace either Carvalho in the 10 or one to replace Omur on RW if he's shifting central, one to replace Delap up top, one to replace Morton in midfield, and then we're just going to go with no bench? You're right that we need 5 to put out a competitive XI.. but is the plan that we just won't make subs? I think Walter is right to be concerned that basically two weeks have elapsed since we were seemingly about to sign a RB and Moore, and we're still without a signing. Everyone at the time said "There's 4 weeks to go, let's see where we are in 2-3 weeks" but we're now 2 and a bit weeks down the line with seemingly no progress. We've lost maybe 30-40% of the pre-season now for new players, and will be expecting them to play catch up on both the tactics and fitness requirements as it sounds like Walter has pushed them pretty hard so far. Are we going to be sat here in a week's time still without a signing saying "the season hasn't started yet don't panic"?
They're clearly struggling to attract players, regardless of how it's getting portrayed. We're massively short and that 8/9 number is bullshit. We need way more than that. First few cracks from Tim tonight, completely understandable. I know people say the 'results don't matter' but they do. Yes we played a better side, but it was his first time playing in front of the fans and you don't want to be dicked. The defending was laughable at times and the play in the final third was non existent for much of the game either. There were some positives and it's an interesting style.
Not sure pep has ruined football. More like it's the coaches who think they are copying his style have ruined football.
You say it on here or on Twitter and you get the same bootlickers calling you bedwetters at this stage now. Especially some of the ones going to botanic. Christ one of the lads who’s gone on the trip to Turkey got called out because he’s been vocal about the lack of transfers but accepting a holiday in the same time. Im all for signing the right players but at some point you have to push the button and say “we need some players now. What can we do to make some deals happen more immediately” What must the squad think. Because I doubt they’re all drinking the lemonade that’s being served up by the PR machine
