You could be onto something there. Squeaky clean Southgate was the opposite of dodgy Allardyce so every England manager should be the opposite of the manager who went before. So non politically correct and anti woke Joey Barton will be the next England manager.
I don’t actually care about the England team, but as far as I’m concerned there are already quite enough women creaming a very good living from the men’s game thanks very much I’ve nothing against women and girls playing football, I applaud it, but not to be pundits, analysts and commentators on a version of the game that they’ve never played and never will
It was a question, hence the question mark. She does have experience of winning a euros though, which none of the men who have been suggested have. You mention “levels” but what “level” was Southgate before he took over?, he wasn’t exactly pushing up trees.i think Managing a national team requires a different skill set to club management. BTW my preferred candidate is Klopp.
Southgate played to International level, managed Boro in the EFL and ran the England U21s for 4years. Any woman doesn't come near that in experience, absolutely ridiculous to compare the Women's game to the Men's game. I agree he wasn't pulling up trees but for the FA 'Suits' it was, for them, a natural progression to manage England in 2016. It wouldn't surprise anyone if they appointed Lee Carsley......another 'Yes man'. I agree with you on Klopp but mystified how you can mention Wiegman for the same position. Must be WUM.
Not a WUM, I wouldn’t chose her, but I think it’s an interesting debate. I’m sure a woman will manage a men’s team at some point.
