You can do it but you need to be signing younger players permanently than we have. Our policy is completely short term and I'd love to understand the logic behind it.

Even this summer, there's plenty of young players you can sign for reasonable fees that we could develop. Hughes at Wigan, there's Burrows if we need a fullback, Dembele is available on a free, as is Drameh, Shola Shoretire has left Man Utd so would be available for compensation and I've always like Poku too.

They might take a little time to settle in but there's some very decent players you can bring in without spending the earth.
Thinking of this post ST, I am a little sceptical that without Darnboorugh who had perhaps a 50/50 strike rate that many of these unearthed gems we need to be finding are passing us by.

Funny how most absolutely slated Darnboorugh when he was here and those who said he was actually pretty decent and had good rep etc were laughed at

Acun said we had 16 to play with. So that’s 16 million plus, 8 for Philogene plus 15 for Greaves so far. Than 2 for the other outwards, not to include wages off. So if we don’t have 50
Million to play with for wages and transfers you must be asking what the heck is going on?

Sinik injured <laugh> rapidly becoming one of our worst signings.

Impossible, Acun said he'll be a big player for us this season.

The lad is made of glass, and will never be able to survive the intensity of the Championship.

Let him go on a free transfer and draw a line under it.

A lot? Where?

The bloke sourced Jones, Slater, Coyle, Doc, Honeyman, Elder, Ingram, McLoughlin, etc.

You're honestly not that daft are you....when he left I made a post saying it's a shame and he's got a good reputation etc ( something along those lines ) and you jumped straight on it pointing out his flaws and how poor he was begging agents to take players in his previous roles ( obviously I can't remember it word for word )

So let's not pretend he never got stuck as you was one of the ones giving him it.... But tbf you probably just used it as yet another excuse to just try and have a pop at me

*I'm sure you'll now spend time going through threads to find it* just to prove me wrong or point out I got a world wrong or I missed one*

Huh? "I jumped straight in" to highlight how little he was rated when he joined, which is exactly what I've said above.

Amazingly the search function works on here:

Darnborough did very well at bringing in the players that won us the league in League One so I'd never view him as overrated. Particularly given how poor his reputation was when he came in he's found some gems for us.

And in fact I posted before you in that exchange. It was Steven Toast who gave the context that he had the poor reputation from Burnley and Norwich when you tried to disagree with me that he had arrived with an iffy reputation.

"You're not that daft are you..."

No one's taking pops except you.
