This was touched on this morning on Sky News ‘Sunday Morning with Trevor Philips’. It was pointed out that the Labour MP being interviewed (I can’t remember his name) that many Tory and Labour MPs won their seats with only a couple of hundred votes, whereas the Lib Dem and Reform MPs needed thousands to secure theirs.
We had a referendum on a wishywashy halfway house hybrid of PR during the ConDem coalition term and it was rejected, but it wasn’t proper PR - Cameron didn’t allow it.
There is no way that either the Tories or the Labour Party will allow PR because it would weaken their iron grip on power. It’s something they are both in total agreement - for them it would be like turkeys voting for Christmas.

It has already started the cost of cancelling Rwanda will be spun as money saved .. the clever MP'S/ OPPOSITION WILL SEE IT AS " now we have to house the incoming flood in hotels and the suchlike a cost that is more expensive than sending the same number to RWANDA. Those in Rwanda would not have brought over their extended families all non contributors to the benefit department that has to cough up ...so look forward to more rises in contributions not decreases ..................

Anybody that voted Liebour this is only the beginning wait and see.
Trump will want nothing to do with Liebour especially after what that clown Lammy said about him.

THAT doesn’t bother me. The US don’t hold us in high regard anyway. Special Relationship my @rse.
I’m not really bothered by Lammy or Abbott - I’m not sure Starmer will give them (especially Abbot) much power.
One person that DOES concern me though is Raynor. She is dangerous. I do not like her at all.

EDIT: Lammy is Foreign Secretary - but Abbot won’t get anywhere near the cabinet as long as Starmer is PM.

If Trump wins the US election then a trade deal is possible. Shame it will be with Labour if it happens at all
    As for Raynor
She looks and dresses like a street walker

Trump didn’t complete a deal with Boris because Trump wanted us to import chlorinated chicken and other dodgy stuff - that was a blocker for us and we couldn’t negotiate through it before the US government changed.
I think that the US won’t negotiate a deal on a level playing field - only one biased in favour of the US.

The way we pander to the Americans is embarrassing. The ‘Special Relationship’ is one way - like the nerd telling everyone he’s best mates with the school bully.
There are loads of examples, but the obvious one is the US demanding that we hand over the young lad who hacked into the Pentagon to them - which we dutifully did - but yet they refused to hand over the woman who killed that young motorcyclist.
We are also compelled to comply with their ‘Patriot act’.
They on the other hand have no compulsion to - or intention of - complying with anything that we demand.

She’s the most dangerous of the current lot imho.
I think Starmer is capable of keeping the others in line - but not her.
I wouldn’t be surprised that if things start to go badly wrong and Starmer is in trouble she’d stab him in the back as soon as she spots an opportunity.
    Nasty piece of work.

One way to raise a load of revenue without putting up taxes - reduce crime and ease pressure on the police - would be to legalise class B drugs and allow them to be manufactured and sold under licence - like alcohol and tobacco currently is.
If one could go to a tobacconist or supermarket to buy what you need for a joint then there would be no need for the dodgy dealer or his boss - and the government would benefit from the revenue and by not playing expensive ‘whack-a-mole’ chasing scumbag dealers - which is impossible to win.
Yes it’s bad for you - but it’s happening anyway - every street in every town smells of dope - might as well make it pay into the economy instead of draining it.
    Simples.

As some of you may know I have used pot on prescription for over a decade as an additive to my chronic pain journey but recently my pain has gone over the dam and I had to try heavier prescription to combat the problem. Methadone was prescribed and for 4/5 days my world changed into somewhere that pain did not exist but the hammer attacked me again and I was forced off the drug because it couldn't hold the pain back and I had to quit the drug because of awful side effects. Taking Methadone is bad enough but wait until you quit and suffer horrendous withdrawal symptoms like I did and have to try yet another opiate medicine because the world closes in on you. Morphine is the latest drug of choice and only time will tell whether it can give me a better life or not but not giving up is the key to success, at whatever level that may be.

Since the use of marijuana has become legal in Canada I don't have to go through government approval process and can go to my local store and purchase both THC and CBD products in vape cartridges for use in my pain management programme. When I use these products I get a body relaxation that allows the pain medications to work better and give me a more comfortable life - I hope, and it has constantly been the sole product that gives me what I expect. Legalizing these products has not taken the nasty people off the streets who want to sell you some absolutely horrific stuff to fester young lives because the criminal groups always want to maintain their lifestyles no matter who or what they kill. Drug crime in Canada still thrives but primarily in the streets of the no-hopers and young people who desperately need help and making pot, and some other lower level drugs, legal will never solve the illegal drug trade as it makes vast amounts of money for evil doers. There are always two sides to every story and I just wanted you to see my side of the equation and decide if anything I have said makes a difference in your personal thoughts on the subject. Stay safe one and all and now I'm off to have a puff as my body is still trying to accept the morphine with limited success for now I know for certain that in 10 minutes the pain will have decreased. :emoticon-0100-smile

    Hilarious !!
Starmer says Biden is mentally fit to be the leader of the free world
Biden then gives a speech at the NATO summit and refers to the President of Ukraine as Putin !
I bet he’s glad Starmers in his corner !
