small turnout people did not vote.
liebour only increased it voting by 1.6 % they say

Reform received a greater percentage of the vote than the Lib Dems who have 60 plus seats. Proportional representation is needed.

    ‘Proportional representation is needed.….’

Funny how it’s only needed now, with Reform affected.
The Lib Dem’s have been screaming for it for ages.
If we had had PR in 1983 the LDs would have come second!!

Reforms success is spectacular. More people voted for a party in its infancy than the Greens, or SDP or one of the oldest political parties in the World in the Liberals.

Reform now has a massive keystone vote to work from, that will transmit into council elections, and attract financial support to a party that has operated on meagre means v Labour and the Tories.

With the coming storm between the liberal wet Conservatives and Conservative Conservatives which will destabalise the Tories even further, Reform are in a position to galvanise and push forward right wing Conservative politics.

I hope so tbh, we need political change in this country. I’m just not sure it won’t burn out before it can really take hold. Hope I’m wrong!

I can’t help feeling a tiny bit of sympathy for Sunak.
He will always have the unwanted and humiliating label of leading the Conservative Party to its biggest ever defeat, but I personally believe that the fatal damage was done by a combination of Johnson and his Partygate and Liz Truss with her absolutely catastrophic tenure. The writing was on the wall. Sunak probably saved the Tories from an even worse defeat.

The West Country has completely rejected the Tories, hasn’t embraced Reform and is now home to centre left, progressive parties. That’s one of the reasons why we live in the best part of Britain.

Absolutely delighted with the GE result - it’s richly deserved. Starmer worked incredibly hard and incredibly effectively to make his party electable again and the Tories got what they deserved - annihilation.

Nigel Farage's Reform would have won 93 seats under proportional representation. WE NEED TO DEMAND THESE CHANGES, THIS IS NOT A FAIR SYSTEM.

I believe that the SDP/Liberal Alliance as they were called at the time, polled more votes than Michael Foot’s Labour Party. However, coming second in almost every constituency in the country gives you zero MPs.

And in progressive Labour controlled Bristol we have huge homeless camps.

They are inclusive mind, occupying space in hyper affluent BS8 and less affluent BS4/BS5.

    Tories:

PM: Rich bloke (Boris - and Cameron) educated at Eton - inherited wealth
Deputy: mate of rich bloke also educated at Eton - inherited wealth
All the rest: rich, inherited wealth. Private school educated (and not that well qualified tbh).
Labour aren’t much better either - hypocrisy - loads have sent their kids to privates schools.

Hardly a self/made man or woman among them. Born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

In fact, the last elected man of the people was John Major - ironically a Tory.

I’m sure his heart is in the right place but he’s not inspiring

I'm just going to relax now, sit back and watch this lot perform miracles, if they do it's to all of our benefits, if things don't improve they have all signed their own destruction, it will be interesting to watch them rot from within..

Yes - and ducking out of the D Day commemoration early didn’t do his PR any good either.
