I disagree on the football team. I don't think being patriotic and supporting the national team are mutually exclusive (though they obviously do come together often).
This is ridiculously biased by some. If it was a Man Utd player rather than Nunez, a lot of you would have a field day.
He's gone into the crowd and attempted to punch spectators. There is nothing else to get, you just can't do that irrelevant of the motives and he'll face the consequences, probably in the form of a ban.

According to many outlets (including Empire of the Kopp) it has now, search Nunez throws chair at fans.
Presumably they'd have to specifically ask FIFA to apply it worldwide as it's not a FIFA tournament?
I don't know all the facts and I suspect few people outside those actually at the match do either but from what I've ascertained so far, I'd expect a ban, but hopefully not a very serious one.
The Copa doesn’t come under FIFA so it’s unlikely that he’ll get a blanket ban. CONMEBOL only have control of S. American football.

There’s a difference between going into the stand to attack fans and going in to defend your family from being hit.
