This was touched on this morning on Sky News ‘Sunday Morning with Trevor Philips’. It was pointed out that the Labour MP being interviewed (I can’t remember his name) that many Tory and Labour MPs won their seats with only a couple of hundred votes, whereas the Lib Dem and Reform MPs needed thousands to secure theirs.You must log in or register to see images
We had a referendum on a wishywashy halfway house hybrid of PR during the ConDem coalition term and it was rejected, but it wasn’t proper PR - Cameron didn’t allow it.
There is no way that either the Tories or the Labour Party will allow PR because it would weaken their iron grip on power. It’s something they are both in total agreement - for them it would be like turkeys voting for Christmas.
