A RB and striker are due to sign either today or tomorrow.

It’s likely that a couple more signings will arrive while we are out in Turkey given the geographical location (if Zajc is leaving Fener then it can’t help to have him train with us at least).

Between the end of the Turkey trip and Bristol City we could see another four or five and then no doubt as the transfer window comes to a close a few more will come in.

I reckon 11 will come in between now and August 31st. Now that the countries we would probably be buying from are back from the Euros, it’ll probably speed up the process.

So 6-7 new signings before the first game of the season? That is nowhere near enough.

My beds still dry and I’m still backing acun and tan to sort it, but the rebuild looks like it’s getting bigger.
Also we’ll be writing this season off as the players haven’t had a pre-season and need time to gel.
    25/26 is our season

Seri going as well. That will hurt, he was by a country mile our best midfielder last year. I’m beginning to worry now. Literally a whole new side with the spine well and truly taken out of it.

Forget play offs and promotion, we need to be aiming to not be in the bottom 3.

Assuming Greaves, Philogene, Lokilo and Longman all leave soon, that leaves us with 18 first-team players, three of which are keepers and also includes the likes of Sinik, Vaughan, Simons, Fleming, Furlong, Andy Smith and Callum Jones. So really we have 8 outfield players who are currently decent enough to be starting.

Oh, and Seri and Giles could also leave. If this happened under the Allams there would be riots lmao. We’ve switched vindictive ownership for incompetent ownership with ‘positive vibes’.

I’d seriously view staying up as a success this season. At the rate we are going we will have a team full of strangers taking to the pitch for the start of the season.

Did you watch the game when we beat Southampton away, we were in the top 6 strengthened the team then and bottled it, Settling for a point at home v wba, same at Preston away, Rosie was scared to lose but we would have been better winning 1 and losing the other. Top 6 was very achievable winning the play offs is just a lottery.

I can think of other teams who have improved their facilities who were in the same position we are or lower.

..... playing for a new manager & coaching team with zero experience in England (bar Daws), with players expected to adopt a very different, high risk style of football.

    It's incredible.

I do think Acun will turn it around, but the first few weeks of the season, maybe even the first half of the season, could be a tough watch.

It's top 6 that counts and we had momentum, that momentum collapsed in the last 13 games and that was entirely self inflicted by the manager

We were unbeaten in the last 6 prior to Plymouth. Quite literally an Ozan Tufan pen away from making it.

He’s at fault sure. But once again pinning the blame on one bloke is asinine. It’s a team game for a reason.

I wouldn’t be too bothered if Seri went if we could get someone like Cheick Condé or Aiden O’Neill in as a replacement as they would both suit Walter’s style more I think.

We’ll get Oliver Norwood or Jack Cork though.

So who gave us that momentum? Are you giving him credit for getting us into the top 6 prior?

What I can’t understand is that people think Acun is saying these things in the HDM about not being able to spend to tell other clubs don’t take the piss basically?

Surely other clubs can just work out that we can actually spend with a quick working out of our previous spend? They will have a lot more information than we do

I don't see why we wouldn't keep Sinik for at least pre season so TW can take a look at him. Simons and Furlong I expect will also be given a chance. Big season for both of them, not sure what's happening with Fleming, he'll need to prove he can step up like Matty Jacob did.

8 first team players that are Championship quality, plus 7 more before the start of the season then a few more as we head toward the end of the window, backed up by talented youth players and some loans sounds about right to me.

It's not as though the club are going "oh ****, hang on, we need more players!" The finances make it harder, but it's not exactly mission impossible for us to sign some talented lads before the season kicks off.

Without getting too political, the Allams were like an unpopular government that enforced austerity and didn’t shy away about showing their disdain for people. Acun is the charismatic populist who swoops in to cheering crowds promising them everything they desire but is actually an incompetent administrator. Free holidays and cheaper tickets are good for mending a toxic relationship between owner and fans that existed under the Allams but it is not a replacement for a well-run football club and we just aren’t a well-run club at all.

But other clubs will view us as both cash rich and desperate to rebuild quickly, he has to play the FFP card and not over pay.
