Saw something about the Labour cabinet being 92% made up by people who went to comprehensive schools. Sunak’s last cabinet had 19% from comprehensive schools. I’m liking the vibe that these people will have experienced the same issues in life as the majority of the population and I am hoping that they will better understand what is needed to turn the country around and improve lives.
I am expecting lies, virtue signalling, increased taxes and things getting worse than ever before. But I hope I’m wrong
Eh? Thieving? They’ve been in for a few days. What exactly are you accusing them of stealing. It would be quite impressive if they have stolen anything so far It’s the other lot that were the thieving morons.
You will see. Give it a few months until their full budget and plans are announced. Take from the workers and give to the migrants and dossers. Going to be awful for the hard working families. Same as ever with labour. Basically more of what the pathetic Tories conjured up but on steroids. The streets will be even more dangerous with all the criminals they release early etc. Hope I am wrong, but everything the Tories got wrong they will only amplify.
Almost every aspect of life was better under the previous labour government than it is today, so I very much doubt this lot will do any more damage than the tories did over the last 14 years. As for the lies, virtue signaling and taxes - what do you expect, they're politicians!
So you are labelling them as thieves based on assumptions and no evidence. Sounds about right You do realise that the Tories were also releasing criminals early. And Reform would have had to because there just isn’t prison space. How do you propose we build and staff the prisons needed? With what money? And how to raise it? You’d call it “thieving” I assume. But it’s actually called tax - and any party would have to use it to raise this prison money. As well as the other areas of at least equal priority “Hard working families” is just a right wing dog whistle as most people actually work hard. The vast majority. There is also evidence out there that migrants (those who are allowed to work anyway) are among the hardest workers out there
"Reform UK has come under pressure to provide evidence its candidates at the general election were all real people after doubts were raised about a series of hopefuls who stood without providing any photos, biographies or contact details." https://www.theguardian.com/politic...to-prove-all-its-candidates-were-real-people?
If the UK controlled its borders and leaned into Nuclear we wouldn’t have to tarmac over the green belt to build 1.5m **** new builds or stick wind farms in areas of natural beauty. These are all policy choices. Policy choices that stretch back to Blair and continue today.
Just to go back a bit to a comment earlier that suggested support for Reform in under 25s was pushing 30%, initial sampling by YouGov suggests it was actually around 9% That’s against 41% for Labour, 18% Green, 16% Lib Dem and….. 8% Conservative . Reform are most popular with people between 50-69. Of course at some point the Government publishes the full breakdown, but it goes against Farage’s ‘youthquake’ narrative.
So where did the 30% come from? Was it just completely made up? Or was it from certain seats? I remember that there was supposed to be a youthquake in 2019 that was going to drive Corbyn to number 10. Funnily enough that didn’t happen
What probably happened is that Farage asked all of the young(ish) people at his meetings how old they were, and 30% of them were coherent enough to tell him their age
How much absolute dross does your FB newsfeed give you by the way? Just had a ‘meme’ pop up about child Starmer being groomed by Saville, with a shedload of people taking it deadly seriously underneath. Almost missed it inbetween the many AI generated Jesus posts with Nepali travel agent advert text that Facebook usually ‘suggests’ to me,
I get some sponsored ads on Dutch FB (in English), mostly local plus events and vacations. I bin them as I'm scrolling through, don't get the religoloon stuff or the crackpot conspiraloon 'memes'
'I'm proud of the part my party has played, including in this intake the largest cohort of LGBT+ MPs of any parliament in the world' Keir Starmer has paid tribute to Diane Abbott and LGBT MPs in his first remarks to the House.” Jesus Christ. I can’t take 5 years of this identity politics virtue signalling crap. No one cares about who you shag. Just do your ****ing jobs and improve the country. The Tories had plenty of diversity and they were ****e. So we should ignore that and focus on merit and competence
