Don't see huge value in chasing this signing tbh. With Cirkin and Alese already established as options that are good enough to take us to the top end of the league, plus Hjelde who can do a job there, Huggins still on the books who can do very well there when fit and even Hume who can cover there perfectly well. Add in Bainbridge, who is a promising player, and I don't see the need to add yet more bodies in that space. Just confuses things further I think.

About 7k more pro minutes than Jobe.

Experience isn't a thing you can measure in terms of minutes on the pitch though, it's the leadership personality trait that we need. I've seen young players come here and be leaders and i've seen older players come here and be anything but a leader.

If a player is 23 but is a leader on the pitch i'd rather that than a Dack type who's played a load of games.

I agree mate but not sure we really have a leader on the pitch or it didn’t look it last season anyway. Hopefully the club pull it out of the bag and get someone decent in that has both experience and leadership qualities. Can’t afford another Dack (which I actually didn’t think was a bad signing at the time) that’s barely going to kick a ball.

Here's a funny quirk. Dan Neil and Bradley Dack have a very similar number of Championship minutes under their belts across their careers

What makes you think he’d be better than Norwood mate?
35-year-old who only had four appearances last season does not sound like what we need.
Cork is a genuine holding midfielder, Norwood is really poor off the ball.

Norwood is tremendous with the ball, however in Neil, Rigg and Ekwah I believe we have players who can replicate his on ball contributions, even if they aren't as good, but I don't think we have anyone who can remotely come close to Corks defensive attributes.

For me, a Norwood/Neil midfield would cause us problems. Of course this is just my viewpoint and I agree i'd rather be signing a player who's played a lot more regularly than Cork.

3k more minutes than an 18 year old isn’t THAT much more though mate. By the end of this season Jobe will have surpassed how much Neil has currently played at this level and I still wouldn’t be saying he’s experienced. This is the point I’m trying to make. Just because you have a few seasons under your belt I’m not sure that qualifies you as being experienced or not in my opinion anyway because if the span of a career is for arguments sake 16 years and you’re classed as experienced after 2 or 3 then what are you classed as after 10? League one is meh, I don’t really rate that much the standard of football was shocking compared to where we’re at now but the minutes help of course.
If we signed Rodri would you rather have Cork cos he has more years under his belt?

I definitely agree that Cork is more the type we are missing, maybe not quite got the legs these days but if there was an emerging player/developer behind him in the same mould might be a smart signing

Nope because as I’ve mentioned numerous times the age shouldn’t matter as long as they’re actually experienced, it should be whoever is best for the team?

If we had the chance to sign Toni Kroos would you take Alan Browne instead cos he’s not 30 yet? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Surprised their hasn't been more noise around Clarke. If he won't sign a new deal I would have thought we'd be cashing in.

I really would like to see jobe moulded into a CF, I think he looks really natural there when he plays there, if he gets properly coached there he could become a monster
