Don't think I've ever taken politics to that extreme. I look at who's winning on the night, but never concerned me who has won what seat, I struggle to take notice of my own local seats.

Ultimately the number of seats won and lost is what counts, but I guess it's a bit of theatre seeing prominent MPs losing their seats.

I remember in 97 staying up to watch Michael Portillo lose his seat. He'd been a particularly smarmy little **** in John Major's cabinet and it was an indication of the Tories demise that evening.

I think Thursday night, could yield some similar scenarios. I mean, who doesn't want to see Rees-Mogg lose his seat and go crying off to his Nanny about the nasty lefties ?

I don't even remember Portillo losing his seat, don't remember anything about it or him. I'd care even less if Rees-Mogg dropped dead tomorrow, let alone win or lose a seat.

I'm not sure if I can be arsed to stay up and watch it, because it's so late but will see, even if I did, it would only be for the overall numbers and swing, not which celebrity mp has won or lost a seat, although can see some amusement in it now you mention it.

For a laugh I went to uk.isidewith.com to see what an impersonal algorithm thought I should vote for.


Labour won with a 69% match.
But I'm joint 2nd on 62% with Lib Dems, Greens and... wait for it... Scottish Socialists (bet they don't have an Eddisbury representative)!
Then trailing them Sinn Fein, UKIP, Reform, and Women's Equality Party. Conservatives were way down the list in 13th place!

Brexit was already done when Boris became PM all that was left was deciding on the terms we traded with the EU .

I don’t remember it being done when Boris was elected. My memory is telling me that Brexit was being held up and Theresa May couldn’t get it pushed through and then it was up to Boris to make the breakthrough and get it done which he managed.

My scores don't surprise me, although I felt Animal Welfare was a little low for me, but that's because although I said no to animal testing I didn't rate it high in importance, I think I was trying to avoid being too activist. Womens equality I've always been pretty hot on all my working life, so not surprised to see that second highest.

I didn’t know there was an option to rate the questions by importance. I wasn’t asked any questions about women and equality for them.

Not sure why I wouldn’t hit 100% in Animal Welfare. That’s my big passion in life.

I probably got the Greens for saying no to Nuclear Energy?...I've always had mixed feelings about it, and when you see the war in Ukraine, and the natural disaster that occured in Japan I think it was, along with many other incidents, it makes me feel negative towards it, despite there being many positives, but it's what we leave behind that concerns me - there is no ideal answer.

Brexit had already happened the moment we signed article 50 from then on it was just the terms .
I should point out that on the old politics thread when Tobes and NSIS were going on about having a second referendum i said despite voting to remain if there was another in an attempt to reverse the original i would switch my vote to leave on principle so i'm probably not the best judge of this.
