Don't think I've ever taken politics to that extreme. I look at who's winning on the night, but never concerned me who has won what seat, I struggle to take notice of my own local seats.
Ultimately the number of seats won and lost is what counts, but I guess it's a bit of theatre seeing prominent MPs losing their seats.
I remember in 97 staying up to watch Michael Portillo lose his seat. He'd been a particularly smarmy little **** in John Major's cabinet and it was an indication of the Tories demise that evening.
I think Thursday night, could yield some similar scenarios. I mean, who doesn't want to see Rees-Mogg lose his seat and go crying off to his Nanny about the nasty lefties ?
