Not Hull City Centre, but loads of roadworks in Anlaby from Monday until October.
Might affect travel to games for some.
Typically impressive HDM reporting mind you <laugh>
Week 1 closure is in Anlaby according to them, but is actually Willerby, and there is no such road as ‘Ashton’ so presumably they mean ‘Aston’ and later if anyone can point me to Wolferton Drive that would be good <doh>
  • Week 1 - Road Closure - Kingston Road at Ashton Road Junction.
  • Weeks 1-5 - Road Closure - Ashton Road between the Kington Road Junction to Hazelbarrow Drive
  • Weeks 5-9 - Multiway Lights - Wolfreton Road and Forty Steps
  • Week 12 - Road Closure -Wolfreton Drive at the Springfield Way Junction
  • Road 13 - Road Closure - North Street
  • Weeks 14-16 - Multiway Lights - Pryme Street, Wolferton Drive and Wilson Street

Hopefully just the Aston Road junction with Kingston Road shut rather than Kingston Road itself otherwise that will be utter carnage.

Not my sort of thing - look ghastly.

But I think I heard/read that Papas Fish and Chips had Wendy's franchises in the city and were converting some of their struggling fish and chip shops into Wendy's.

For many years Wendy's was the largest burger chain in the US, they've now dropped to second behind MacDonalds.

There was a big one in Cambridge Circus in Soho and in the early 80's the downstairs used to be packed on a weekend, as it was unstaffed, dimly lit and had marble top tables for people to chop their gear on. It wasn't unusual to see 40-50 people in there, not one of them with any food. <laugh>

Probably a healthier alternative to what the 'dog **** in a tray' merchants are selling.

Expressions of Interest open for East Bank Urban Village

Hull City Council has launched its strategically important East Bank Urban Village project to market, opening Expressions of Interest (EOI) to secure a lead development partner to deliver the scheme.

Following interest in the site being expressed by a range of developers, this is the first formal phase of procurement as the council seeks to bring the site forward.

The project will see up to 850 new homes developed alongside a range of other uses on the East Bank of the River Hull. This will create a vibrant new urban village on underused brownfield land.

The council’s procurement process is being undertaken through the Homes England DPS Framework.

Garry Taylor, the council’s assistant director for major projects, culture and place, said: “It is great to have reached this important milestone in the project’s development in the opening of EOI for East Bank Urban Village.

“It is a site with huge potential and we look forward to progressing the conversation with prospective developers.”

East Bank Urban Village will help to support growth and investment into the city centre.

The site has been allocated for high-quality apartments with the opportunity for features such as social rooftop areas and spaces for families, outdoor play and integrated quality private amenity spaces. EOI must be made by Friday 5 July.

Must be enough brickies and plasterers on here to chip in and knock something together?
