I don't read much into the comments would be the same for any manager who got the team relegated.
To balance you probably need to see fans comments after his first season.
It does seem a big gamble though. Trying to be upbeat and will obviously support him
but not 100% convinced as yet

Initially I was massively underwhelmed But reading a bit about him I can see the logic and he has a lot of admirers especially after that first season.
However I've spent an hour or so in the garden today browsing some of L'Orients game highlights (v Sad)
and I hate to say this but I wasn't too impressed with his tactics. Just seemed the opposition controlled the games and most goals scored with individual flair on the break. Obviously some exceptions. But they also seemed to concede loads of chances.

Only highlights of course and maybe I should stay away from the internet
but would love one of the coaches or scouts on here to give me their views of his tactics
Can't say I've seen much of them, but from reading the analysis, it seems that his tactic was to invite pressure, to hold possession in the back line, inviting the press, and then to exploit the space that this leaves with quick passes into that space. Its kind of anti-press.

Maybe but that doesn’t make him a bad coach or a bad choice. Not saying that’s what you were implying, but L’Orient’s relegation isn’t just down to him.

no. He (and I) were saying it’s not a surprise the fans of Lorient are pleased to see him go.

Our relegation wasn’t just down to Moyes etc.

doesn’t make them bad managers. Just not a surprise to see fans react like this

That didn't go down well with the fans for MB when he deployed that V the mags.

IIRC he did it against Stoke or Plymouth and people still moaned saying we were lucky.

Guessing here but if RLB has parted company with his club then maybe both clubs have paid a sum each. His club not wanting to pay for a long contract , 4 years, ?? . Sunderland not wanting to buy him out. So we've struck a deal and the coach get's a canny signing on fee ?

Was only highlights but I think what surprised me was the lack of press without the ball. To be fair when they got possession their attack was rapid I have concerns but I’m really looking forward to hear him and see his teams Certainly won’t pre judge him on last season what he does here is all that matters

Who cares?

True. Although I think that was more that we couldn't cope with their press, whereas Reggie was deliberately inviting it because his team could break the press.

Plays a low block and is, apparently, quite direct which isn't really what I want to see. I still think it's an interesting appointment though and I'm definitely backing him.

Yeah, they didn't press. Low block all the way.

Going to need some pace brought into the club this summer.

And Lorient are bound to have their fair share of knackers who haven't got the first clue and will post bollocks, just like we have.

What's the French equivalent of RTG?
