All of these stories really seem like fantasy. Nowhere does it imply he has even been approached...let alone considered it. My thoughts behind these rumours 1. Would he go to a place that for reasons I do not fully understand are not even being considered by other coaches ( e.g. Rosenior) 2. QPR really wanted him having made at least 2 approaches for him. It's nice to be wanted. 3. He seems to like working with the new CEO ..who has plans for the future. 4. The squad is already being managed towards his requirements ( well it looks that way to me) 5. He has a rapport with the fans and the owners 6. I also believe that most people are not as two faced as Beale. Cifuentes has signed up to do a job...he has succeeded in part 1 ( he has kept us up). I think he is keen to do part 2., which is have a good stab at promotion I hope I am right
Yeh, he seems much more level-headed than the snake. If a prem job came up and he felt he couldn’t turn it down, who could blame him, but it would come with a high risk. I think he’ll take another season with us and see where the club, players and fans take him. On that basis he could easily take a new contract, with clauses, and move forward securely. That’s the obvious, but we have never done the obvious or the sensible in the past. Maybe Nourry will change that. Or … he could go to Sunderland
At what point are we going to know if he’s committed to us for next season? Would be good if he posted something positive about the upcoming season and his ambitions.
Depends what it is. 'I'm someone for whom principles matter' except in the following limited (100 or so) circumstances..." or how about "No way Jose. Unless it's one of the 10 clubs who finished in the the top half of the Premier League last season. Best way is to get him to sign a new 4 year contract or longer which of course can't prevent him resigning with immediate effect in which case zilch. I'll draft it up
He's no where in the running according to the bookies ... Sunderland Next Permanent Manager Betting Odds | Football | Oddschecker
I guess the stumbling block would be moving to Sunderland - maybe it’s possible to manage the team via Zoom.
Apparently all terms agreed with Marti now but we are miles out in negotiating a fee for him. We are offering 6 figures but apparently QPR are holding out for around 3 million.
Have to be a complete mug or desperate to take the Sunderland job, who'd want to work under that owner ? It's why Rosenior pulled out of a 2nd interview even though they desperately wanted him for the job ! Complete ****house of a club at the moment
We are reportedly changing our focus this summer to look at more experienced players. Carlton Palmer doesn't have a clue
