For the amount we got for him I thought it was a great piece of business. However if qpr are asking for just a tenth of that then it's a no brainer for me. It will still leave us with a a decent amount to buy players. How much have you heard for compo
They'd be completely right. Based off the other compo fees floating about, it should be a few million IMO. Especially this close to pre-season starting.
That said, I don't know if there's ANY precedent for a tribunal deciding on managerial compensation. I think its going to require us to agree between us. This is if its Marti of course. Its why I'm not getting excited that it is.
You can just see this falling apart with us being unable to agree a compensation fee, it'll leak out QPR fans will slag him off and he will be sacked within the first 12 weeks - and our new manager will be... who knows
No real update. Just discussing the potential compensation if we were to go for Cifuentes. Nothing concrete to say we are.
Yeah. I think clubs have to start looking at head coaches in the same way they'd look at a young player, spend the fee and then in 2/3 years another club will come in and pay £10m+.
As I said I don’t think there is a tribunal but it would be covered by a claim around employment and contract law through the courts.
As far as I'm aware and I'm not in the know of what the ins and outs of negotiations then I would think that's high so wouldn't be doing it, however you have stated that qpr want 900,000 which I would be prepared to pay
If he's got a buy out clause in his contract then QPR don't have a leg to stand on, even if the timing is ****e. But if they quoted us 900k back in May, and that quote was just what they demanded then, I'd be very surprised if that price hadn't gone up 2 or 3-fold
I know what you mean but I reckon once a manager is finally appointed, a decent signing announced and a home kit released, the positive energy will flow back
