Broadstairs is still lovely but I fear it will change in the next few years. There is absolutely massive amounts of house building going on, in what used to be the fields surrounding the town, so it will end up like another Margate and Ramsgate in years to come. Very sad.
Up until 2017/18 I'd never been to Broadstairs even though I'd lived in Bromley since 93. I have been a couple of times and think it is a lively place, although I imagine October to April may be a bit different.
It’s much better outside the summer holiday period when it can get too busy. Depends what you like I suppose.
It’s mid-June and it’s f*cking freezing outside. The threat from Global Warming is over Plus it’s keeping the number of illegal immigrants across the channel down a bit
Not quite Sir Chrissy Powell, but getting there……. https://www.charltonafc.com/news/chris-powell-awarded-mbe
Our transfer window seems to be going very well indeed Obviously I can't comment on the players themselves as I haven't seen any of them play. Nor am I likely to. But just from the vibes on the transfer thread they must all be splendid fellows. Makes such a nice change. Happy days at the Valley again under our wonderful new owners Three cheers for whoever they are!
I didn’t see a player the other day he was really excellent. Well he must have been because someone who doesn’t go to the games and posts on a Football forum said he was. It’s really passé nowadays to go to the games, watch the player and make up your mind on what you see. That is so yesterday. We are assembling an excellent squad and am very happy with the players we are bringing in. Sorry for being positive and upbeat about it, as it doesn’t fit the agenda on here.
I am bloody sure nobody has seen Edwards play so nobody can comment on his capabilities. We'll have to rely on Jones and the talent scout that is Scott.
Do you think Scott had anything to do with signing Berry ? Coz I don’t ! I don’t think he has a say in targets at all now - more to do with the finance
Not at all, I think it's great than fans who can go to games look down on and belittle other fans who perhaps cannot. Obviously fans who don't go to games for whatever reason are not true fans at all. Very positive
Spot on. My own view on season ticket holders on the half way line main stand is that they should have priority on away tickets, discounts on food and merchandise purchases. After all they spend more on their seats than other parts of the ground.
It's always been easy for me to get to The Valley. I probably wouldn't go to so many games otherwise.
Do you know the Aberdeen geezer that lives in Shortlands? Tall guy with a beard, he used to do loads of aways and still goes to the Charlton homes.
