Nothing is too sentimental or soppy for this thread. Anything that lifts the heart or the spirit Here's a link to a lovely little video about Koalas to kick it off... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-australia-50482858 Some Koalas rescued from last year's bush fires in Australia being released back into the wild. Apparently there is an island sanctuary for the furry little Cobbers too... Good luck to one and all of them
AFC Wimbledon come home to Plough Lane tonight... A pity their fans cannot be there. But congratulations anyway to those fans who had their Club stolen from them, and came together to create a new one.
I cannot understand your anger for RD, or anger in any form. There is no gain, only pain. Smoke a fat one and reconsider your Boycott as we need every man on board for the cause.
Fans can get very polarised. I saw a news report about Bury FC recently. Apparently the old Bury FC still exists, though it is closed and nobody is working there. A bid by some fans to set up AFC Bury split their fan base and led to real acrimony between rival factions, with the AFC supporters being branded traitors and having hate mail sent to them. Sometimes hostility is a bad thing - except against Roland & ESI
I agree with hostility sometimes being necessary, but the Bury fan split is a strange one. How could you not feel inspired by the idea of forming a new club.
Our Hydrangeas and Viburnums which are still in full bloom look even better tinged with frost. Three days without my long Covid lung problems, and six wins on the bounce. That's about as much good news as I can handle in a single day.
Sorry to hear you've had Coronavirus and some complications Sandman. Hope you can eventually recover fully, or as close as possible...
Thank you Lardi. For me, not mentioning the bad stuff until it's over creates a positive from a negative.
Didn't know you'd suffered from Vovid Sandman. Positive you got over it I guess and the frost looks nice on the flowers.
The actual illness was a few days if that, a bit rough that's all. I've never had flu before so it was law of averages I got it. The missus got shingles and a bit moany for a day. The mother in law got it same time, she's been good lately, so it does pass.
Everyone who gets this virus and survives it is truly good news, which this thread is here to celebrate.
Incredibly, that will eventually be everyone over the age of thirty. Hopefully we'll all have T cells to pass on some immunity to the next generation.
I might well be hogging this thread as I seem to have only good luck lately. This is todays good news. I was shopping in Spar and as usual singing my head off. As I arrived at the til, an elderly lady said how nice I sang, to which the woman behind the til said "He's always singing, he brings a little bit of sunshine to the town" From behind me a voice added "And to Lefkas" I turned around to see an old friend who owned a restaurant in Lefkas, and who employed me and 'er indoors in 2009 to sing and play. We spent the whole summer there and become close friends with her, her husband and her daughter. I remember she said she was originally from Wales, but I never expected to see her 11 years later, and living just 4 miles away. I am truly blessed.
