Bit of an outside one but what ever happened to Marek Papszun? Did he ever get interviewed? Looks a really strong candidate to me, took his last team from third tier to Polish title and had interest from Brighton when they went for De Zerbi. Plays intense pressing football

I'd be happy with Lampard personally. Heckingbottom fair enough I'll back it. Football is crazy, any of them could come here, inspire the squad and we do well. The window is the most important part, there is no excuse for us to not sign championship-ready players. We could be making some good money from a sale or two as well which could fund that. If we go for young players at least make sure they've played plenty of men's football.

You could find positives with just about every candidate to be honest

Not a bad trait to have though

I have some genuine ITK and I will show my working out, I went to school with a lad (Thornhill) who spent the best part of a decade at the Foundation of Light, he is good friends with more then a few people at the club, one of the lads he is close with is currently coaching one of the underage groups. He has told him that Heckingbottom was contacted by the club back in April or May, very early on, and flat out said no, no interview has taken place and we are not what he is looking for.

My mate is reliable and wouldn't make things up, if he didn't know anything he would just tell me so. When I asked who will we appoint he said nobody knows and that lots of people have interviewed for it.

I try too. The way I'm looking at it now, if we had 100 days to talk about Mowbray when he left Blackburn I think there would be an outrage at him being appointed similar to heck or lampard. But look what he did when he came. No matter what happened last season, this squad does have talent, it needs a manager to come in, get the squad motivated and going and we could get those levels of quality back.

We could be making proper decent money off a sale or two this summer which you would hope we would reinvest on better players.

Football is fickle, if we start the season well this will all be forgotten

No reason to doubt you so I’m very happy with this although I don’t know why.

I'm starting to see why people say nothing when they find out little bits. F**kin hell.

You came onto a board that's been cannibalising itself and imploding at every piece of news, real and fake, for weeks out of sheer frustration and you made your "little bit" as vague and as baiting as you could only to now martyr yourself?

Classy move taking the moral high ground amongst your peers after you stirred them up.

Do you have a problem with me?

I take your point though. No more "bits" of information. I've taken no morale high ground as you say, I was alluding to digs, not other peoples opinion or reactions. I'm as frustrated as the next supporter at the length of time it's taking to appoint a manager/coach. I get told odds and sods (don't post many). Since LRs name has been taken out of the mix, there's a "who next" feeling, I was passed on information (take it or leave it) so passed on a subtle hint rather than "xxxx is getting interviewed today".

This might make sense why we're only interviewing him now.

Annoyingly, he does have some of the characteristics the club would look for, so it doesn't surprise me that they wanted to speak to him back in April.

Maybe he did say no, and that's why it hasn't gone anywhere. Could be we've gone back in now and asked again, and he's said yes this time for whatever reason. He might he's curious as to why everyone else keeps saying no, or maybe he just wanted a bit of a break at that point and now that he's had a break, he's ready to return.

Micky Bridges reckons otherwise

What happens if (as normal) we don't start the season off well?

People are getting interviewed, everyone knows this, it was inevitable his interview would come. no one has said he has the job.
He must have changed his mind then? I'm pretty sure he came out on Talksport or something saying he wasn't interested in the job! Might be wrong like
