How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters
    23
I saw they’re polling at about 9% with 18-34s which is a pretty broad group and you’d expect most of that is towards the upper end of the age bracket. Plus the bloke was probably about 47. Plus it’s Grimsby and they don’t do a lot but shag fish so it’s a good source of votes for Farage.

He defo wasn't 47 <laugh>

I've tried to look for the interview on twitter but can't find it yet.

Rishi Sunak has said he went without "lots of things" as a child, including Sky TV.

Vote for this man

he gets it

he’s like the rest of us

lol

stupid ****

No one really cares that he had a nice upbringing. Not many people care he went to a ludicrously expensive school. Quite a lot of people care when he pretends to be a man of the people. So dumb.

I couldnt give a **** what TV channels he had, what school he went to, or how much money he had growing up.
I vote based on whether he can run the country or not to any degree of success.
And he has shown that he is a self interested turd without a modicum of political talent beyond using the system of government to make money for himself and his friends.
So while Starmer doesnt exactly excite me, Sunak is a big no, from me. I will be voting Labour.

Indeed, thanks!
I cant think of a single redeeming quality about Sunak at all.
Boris was a lying, bumbling sack of **** and a piss poor PM, but he got Brexit over the line so we could all shut up about it.
Cameron caved to the ESG and started a period of austerity that hurt a lot of people, but at least he managed to keep Scotland in the Union and champion for the legalisation of Gay marriage.
They were ****ers, but at least there is one or two positives you can say about them.
Sunak.....nothing. He is a ****ing turd.

Rishi v Keir debate tonight on SKY News, programme starts at 7pm at Grimsby townhall.

Just back from the hospital seeing my mum

Walked past A&E on the way back to the car and was staggered by the amount of Ambulances waiting outside with people in them, being treated by Paramedics and Doctors, presumably because of the lack of beds inside

Would have taken a pic to show the sheer number, but thought that would be a bit crass. But there must have been 20-25 Ambulances waiting

It's this sort of **** that makes my piss boil when you hear the Tories saying how much they support the NHS, because they clearly ****ing don't. When they can find £££bns up their arse to give to their chums for failed PPE contracts, but they know and allow this sort of **** to continue on a daily basis.

****in sooner we get rid of these vile ****s the better !

A 46-year-old man has been arrested by officers investigating £200mn worth of UK government contracts awarded to PPE Medpro during the Covid-19 pandemic. The man, who has not been identified, was arrested on Wednesday at his home in Barnet, north London, and interviewed by National Crime Agency officers, the agency said. PPE Medpro has been the focus of controversy over allegations the personal protective equipment it supplied to the Department of Health and Social Care was not fit for purpose. The NCA said the arrest was based on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud and attempting to pervert the course of justice. PPE Medpro is owned by a consortium led by Doug Barrowman, who is married to Conservative peer Baroness Michelle Mone. Last year, Mone admitted she stood to gain from profits of about £60mn PPE Medpro made from its government contracts. She had lobbied ministers to give contracts to the company. PPE Medpro’s bid to supply the UK government in 2020 was placed in a “high-priority lane” after lobbying from Mone, a lingerie entrepreneur who was ennobled by Lord David Cameron. The health department sued PPE Medpro in 2022 for breach of contract, alleging that £122mn worth of medical gowns supplied by PPE Medpro were not packaged adequately. The company has denied the claims. Mone in 2023 admitted lying to the press to cover up her involvement with the company in an interview with the BBC. Barrowman has publicly denied being an “investor” in PPE Medpro. Mone and Barrowman have said they were open about their ties to the company with government ministers. The NCA opened a probe in May 2021 “into suspected criminal offences committed in the procurement of PPE contracts by PPE Medpro”. About £75mn of assets linked to Mone and Barrowman were frozen or restrained by court order earlier this year as part of the investigation. The court order covered assets including a six-bedroom Belgravia townhouse, a country estate on the Isle of Man, and 15 accounts at Coutts, C Hoare & Co, and Goldman Sachs International. Both Mone and Barrowman have said they are innocent. PPE Medpro, Mone and Barrowman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
