Farage is just another joke character, like Boris Johnson ... ... loves all the attention but would shyte his pants if he became PM.
The last tory manifesto had 42 pledges/promises, or whatever you want to call them...42. They have fulfilled/delivered on 2, (and one of them only partially). Two, out of 42, in 5 years. Can't wait to see this lot booted out, and the more that lose their seats, the better.
Interesting response. There is one person in political media I particularly dislike above all others, Owen Jones, he was playing down the milkshake and interestingly silent on the cement. I think these sorts of people only really understand violence, only when they're defeated by strikes (punches, kicks etc) in the street do they expand their view on reality and the world, and perhaps this thin veil of nicety is all we have left. Interestingly for someone who hates the police, he is likely the first to run to them if things were going wrong for him.
Not really mate, there's no hidden agenda or message in my response ... ... it's just a bit of daft humour, perhaps your response to my response is more telling. I've no idea who Owen Jones is or what he stands for or what Farage stands for tbh. As far as two idiots throwing trash at Farage I'd say that's fighting fire with fire Seriously, neither 'attack' looked planned and I doubt either of them are particularly politically motivated. Two nutters, out of the entire voting populace, isn't significant imo.
There was a Dutch politician called Pim Fortuyn, very similar to Farage in that he was considered fringe, far-right and anti-immigration, often mocked by the media but often did okay when standing for election, the similarities to Farage are there. He was physically attacked a few times by cream pies and such, and the media and left laughed it off, until he was assassinated by gunshot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pim_Fortuyn
I've no idea about any of that mate tbh, I just think Farage is as fake as it's possible to be. He doesn't interest me in the slightest. I thought the same about Boris Johnson, even when people kept telling me what a great leader he could be ... .... desperate for the title, incapable of doing the job.
I feel like we're talking about two different things. You're entitled to like and dislike whomever you want. It's whether you feel like violence should be permitted (or casually condoned) against those you don't like. Like, let's say I hate Diane Abbott and think she's a fat gimp, I could celebrate her being chinned by a White bloke and enjoy watching the Twitter videos and the slo-mo replay of the knock out. Or I could say, well, violence isn't good.
Of course I don't, it's the democracy that brave men fought and died for ... ... it's just that two random idiots throwing what came to hand isn't a great threat to democracy imo. Farage goes out to divide people, not unite them, so things like this will happen more to him than others. We don't live in a perfect society and I'm sure he appreciates the risk.
Good to hear, I think things would be better if people with your politics would take more of a stand against this, it's seen as complicit and it inflames the other side.
They didn't go far enough in my opinion (from the headlines I haven't looked further). They're essentially taxing the top 1% but I don't think there's anything wrong with taxing everyone more... If they can clearly explain the benefits. If 1% of everyone's annual salary was going towards a vast improvement in public transport and more police officers as an example, I think a lot of people would accept that as a fair trade off. It's when they don't clarify exactly what it's for that causes resentment I feel.
Can anyone explain how dumping tens of thousands of kids into the already creaking state schools system is going to improve education standards? Spoiler - the rich kids will still get the best education, we'd just be denying it to those kids whose parents work their arses off to just about to afford it. That'll show those rich bastards eh.
I mean this is just stupid, snap election took everyone by surprise even some Tory MP’s so they were bound to get caught!
