Agree. Saw that yesterday and always thought he was a better keeper than Heaton who was no mug himself. Couldn't bame him for going to Hull in the Prem (I think ) but he lost his way there and could hardly get a game. Best of luck to him.
Yeah. I was going to say something similar. Talk about spoiled for choice! I hope it works out for him at Easter Road.
Did anyone else see the bizarre story about JLloyd Samuel? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar I think it was a bit of a push to call him a "star" (not to speak ill of the deceased) but what a crazy life he must have had....
Even the makers of the popular soaps would think twice about that as a storyline. I guess reality truly is stranger than fiction.
Surprise Euro call for ex-Bluebird keeper please log in to view this image IMAGE SOURCE,HUW EVANS PICTURE AGENCY A former Cardiff City goalkeeper has received a surprise call-up to this summer's European Championships. But he won't be making a shock appearance in Germany after being invited into England's camp as a training keeper. Tom Heaton played 64 times for the Bluebirds across two spells under Dave Jones and Malky Mackay - including featuring in the 2013 League Cup final. Now 38, the Manchester United three-cap international has linked up with the Three Lions to help support Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale and Dean Henderson during the tournament. Heaton was a popular player during his Cardiff days having first arrived at Ninian Park on loan from United in 2008 to rival Peter Enckleman. He then returned the following season, signing on a free transfer to battle for the Cardiff number one shirt with David Marshall, the former Scotland stopper who announced his retirement on Monday. Heaton played his part in the club's history by making saves in the Bluebirds' League Cup semi-final penalty shootout victory over Crystal Palace, also saving from Steven Gerrard against Liverpool in the final before the Reds ultimately lifted the trophy. Heaton then moved to Bristol City, Burnley and Aston Villa before returning to Manchester United, being included in England's Euro 2016 squad along the way. He is now back in the England camp, under the watchful eye of another former Cardiff goalkeeper, Martyn Margetson, who serves as Gareth Southgate's keeper coach alongside his duties at Swansea City.
Didn't want to let this one pass with commenting. McNuggets was a firm favourite of mine during his Bluebirds days. I was very concerned when I read about the struggles he had later on. So I'm particularly pleased to read that he's found his mojo again. Good luck Kev Football is great fun for many and it's such a shame that those that are committed to the game, feel the wrench of stepping away more than others.
Wasn't sure where to put this one so thought this thread would be the most appropriate. Jlloyd Samuel (documentary on Netflix now) sad story. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/widow-claims-ex-cardiff-city-29331784 WOL "Ex Cardiff City Star" - not sure 6 loan games constitutes as a 'Star player' these days
