Voters are Tories or Labour, they lend them their vote. Any large party will incorporate many different views, the political speech is “we are a broad church”.

The Tory party consists of the more right wingers, right across the political spectrum to the more liberal centre right ones. There is always a tension between which section has control over the agenda, and therefore the policies. From your post I assume by Suggesting the party hasn’t been real Torries you mean they haven’t been right wing enough for your liking.

What you fail to recognise is the reason they’ve won elections for the last 14 years is because they’ve appealed to the centre ground. In this country because of the nature of our electoral system centre ground political parties more often than not win elections.

History shows Too far to the right (Farage) or too far to the left (Corbyn), ain’t going to win elections.

Europe is voting right wing they have had enough

Macron Calls Snap Elections after Far-Right Surge
Last updated 24 minutes ago
French President Emmanuel Macron called for snap legislative elections after his centrist alliance suffered a significant defeat in the European Parliament elections, with Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party winning 31.5% of the vote. This decision comes as a response to the surge of far-right parties in the EU elections, particularly in France and Germany, although the centrist majority in the European Parliament remains intact.

Folks, we are manipulated and you're naive to think anything else.

QUITE TRUE RP.........
85% of the population get their info from others with a bigger gob who get it from the media or are Jimmy opposites OR only see the bad things that happen and not the bad thing that is being repaired and leading to a period of calm.

In 5 years time .. heaven forbid I am still alive and kicking! ... I will gladly say " I told you so" to many bigots and sheepish followers of those that back S KS!

PS
I have never or rarely never not accepted I am wrong

You've, unwittingly, called it.
It's just a merry-go-round.

It wasn’t unwitting, just an observation, people get fed up of one system and therefore vote for another hoping for improvement.

You can call it a merry-go-round, I call it democracy, the alternative is a dictatorship whereby we wouldn’t get a choice.

In much the same way i say “i told you so” to all the people taken in by Boris’ lies last time.

I feel sorry for all those people who actually believe we’ve been lead well over the last 14 years, or even lead in the best interests of normal working people.

BTW you are often wrong but just don’t accept it, that’s actually not a strength but a weakness. As individuals we learn and grow by learning by our mistakes. Individuals that fail to recognise their mistakes become stuck in their ways and fail to grow.

Some people still even hail Brexit as a brilliant success AshtonRed <laugh>

We are certainly in the smelly brown stuff and I don’t think either sticking with Sunak or changing to Starmer will fix it.
It’s like changing your tie after youve shat your pants.

What were the red wall tories you were on about?? Blyth Valley and all the rest were not tories.

The alternative is not, as you say, 'a dictatorship'.

The alternative is honest and capable people in government........
.......and there are fairies at the bottom of my garden.

Putting the Torries back in , in your delightful analogy, would be like carrying on eating the stuff that gave you the sh!ts in the first place.

Suella Braverman Pushes for Tory-Reform UK Alliance
Last updated 38 minutes ago
Suella Braverman, the former Home Secretary, has suggested that the Conservative Party should welcome Nigel Farage and his party, Reform UK, to unite the right. Braverman believes there is not much difference between the policies of the Tories and Reform UK. However, this suggestion has sparked a debate among politicians and the public, with some arguing that such a move would be detrimental to the Conservative Party and others supporting the idea of a united right. Nigel Farage has not shown interest in joining the Conservative Party, and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has distanced himself from the idea.

Reform UK: Farage's Challenge to Political Establishment
Last updated 1 hour ago
The discussion revolves around the upcoming UK general election, focusing on the Reform UK party led by Nigel Farage. Many users express support for Reform UK, believing it to be a viable alternative to the Conservative Party and a way to challenge the political establishment. Concerns are raised about the potential consequences of a Labour government, particularly regarding women's rights. There is a call for unity among those who support Reform UK, urging others to vote for the party to bring about change and protect their views.

That would ensure Labour stay in power for a decade or more. The only way for tories to come back anytime soon is to marginalise the loony right.
