I heard Rosenior when I first posted a week or so ago. I replied to my post the page before. He is absolutely in the mix. I hope we are more ambitious.
Don’t get me wrong Rosenior seems more likely than Jansen based purely of the fact I think fishpaste has better sources than Copley. I just don’t understand the catastrophising over it. We are clearly at the end game now so need to wait and see what happens tomorrow
Rosenior would again be fine. I have been guilty of it myself but we need to stop looking at league position with other clubs with completely different squads. Mowbray was finishing mid table and worse with Blackburn. Maresca was ****e at Parma. Martin never finished in the top half with MK Dons or Swansea. Also silly to say Rosenior is free without mentioning that Jansen is also free. Can't use it as a slight against one and not mention it with the other. Jansen isn't the type to demand a coaching team either, he's very much a head coach not a manager.
Don't get why some wouldn't be happy with Rosenior, but we're getting excited about Still who as of yet hasn't done a great deal in management
And that's what we are doing. I think the club have it all coming to them with the delay they have caused.
I don't see how Rosenior is 5th choice. I'd say the only definites were Still and Maric. But that being said, it doesn't seem relevant - on the basis that whoever we appoint now is surely 5th choice (if you believe there were 4 other candidates who we've failed to secure).
I think it’s the fact we knew we needed a manager since February and Rosenior would resemble an afterthought. Became available after the season finished after being deemed not good enough by Hull City. Should be aiming higher.
I get what you mean. But I think it’s clear we were all in on Still. So appointing somebody else once Still turns us down isn’t necessarily an “afterthought”.
I think that’s exactly what it is mate, to be honest. Don’t get still, hire someone who we know will come on our terms? Look, I’m not trying to say this is a forgone conclusion. But if Rosenior was to get the job I wouldn’t be impressed in the slightest. That’s all I’m saying.
On the lack of ambition thing, it’s a pretty lazy argument as well. An all out pursuit of Will Still was if anything TOO ambitious. Appointing somebody else when he turns us down doesn’t make us unambitious.
