No worries mate. I've mentioned a few times I'd heard we asked to speak to Dionisi. I was just curious to whether you'd heard the same. Hope you don't leave the board mate, the haters will be gone in a week. Although I know I couldn't be arsed with the hassle either
I genuinely believe it'll be Still. If we've chucked everything at him, we must feel there's a chance. I reckon he'll take it.
This is probably me playing devil's advocate but could the following be what happened? 1) Deal is agreed with Still and contract sent over to him to confirm/sign; 2) Lens then suddenly contact him with a counter offer which is more lucrative than ours (financially and offering European football); 3) He is tempted but also really wants to come to us so asks if he can have a few days to consider both options; 4) We agree to this but give him a deadline of when we need a answer; 5) In the meantime word gets out that he hasn't signed for us and the 2 scenarios are given out on Friday by different sources, neither of which are official sources; Bearing in mind that there has been no news of him signing for Lens yet then this still leaves him signing for us a possibility and saves face on both parties?
well, i am not alone in wanting you to stay and keep posting your info, as i have posted a few times, the majority on the boards are sensible enough to realise that every single appointment whether it is for playing staff, management or even ownership has a chance to fail right at the last second. i like reading such posts and thank and respect each one who tries to give us a 'heads up' because getting anything public out of the club now is unlikely (the way it should be) and i honestly cannot fathom why and how people get so feckin upset about stuff. some are out in force again as they do every window but they will slink away into lurkers again until the next bit of gossip they can use to throw at the club. EDIT: just caught up with the SAFC - new future and both Wheatsheaf and Prica basically say the same thing, the club want WS and have offered what seems to be a very good deal...hoping this means the flex in 'the model' has been looked at and adjusted, this would mean the owners are learning and changing as needed, much better idea than just throwing millions and millions into a failed 'easy' option.
To be fair if you stop posting etc then people who have a go say this and say that have won, you are a popular poster on here so will be missed Hope to see you post in the future
One thing that had me stumped was if still to Lens was done and dusted why wouldn’t fab send out a tweet at all about it. Even on Friday when what seems like the 2 sides of the story were reported on nothing from fab. Am I looking too far into this maybe but I hope the apparent all in push is enough
I had a look on twitter just before to see if I could see anything. Very little posted all day but there definitely seems to be a few nerves from some of there fans that it might not be as done as was reported
4 days ago L'Equipe said Still was their number 1 target to replace the lad going to Nice. Then SSN, the Athletic, the Sunderland Echo, the Daily Mail, and for what it's worth Roker Report all declared our chances of getting him over.
I may be wrong but I don’t think any of them said it was 100% over. I remember at least a couple of them written to say there was a slight chance things could change
Tbf they all said barring no U-turns expecting the club to end it there. Then it was reported that we were gonna try and push the boat out this weekend to try and land him
But nothing from fab who loves a Will Still tweet he hasn’t even hinted about him going to either team if it was as close with Lens as reported he’d have 3 separate tweets about it already
