The majority of match going supporters (40k) will know most managers in the league. It doesn’t mean a great deal.
We’ve also never had the amount of money we are about to make from player sales to spend which is the next stage of the recruitment model. We haven’t even got to that part yet. I think Brentford had a very similar model and their first sale was Ollie Watkins that allowed them to improve the squad as a whole
The outrage that happened over Beale is going to pull us back for this next appointment because people are ready to give that same treatment to anyone else that walks through the door I can’t see how that’s gonna help us in any way shape or form. It’s just gonna cause ****ing major problems
If only there were some way the club could avoid that. Maybe by appointing someone who doesn't cause that reaction? Is that crazy enough to work?
We spent £10m last season on incomings. Not the best but they haven’t even had this type of money to spend so the argument that they won’t is pure assumption
Here man. There will fans doing that to ANYONE walking through the door. Still “He’s done **** all in a farmers league” Maric “I don’t care if he’s highly regarded and Bayern don’t want him to go he hasn’t managed a club so he’s ****e” Wicky “He’s only won a poxy Swiss league ****ing ****e” Rosenior “He failed once in his very early career to get playoffs by 3 points so he clearly can’t learn from that and improve ignore his potential he’s ****e” A lot of fans will twist for no reason they get a kick out of seeing the club fail so they can be right about a certain member of the board. **** me it’s not rocket science to see that fans working against a manager from day 1 will cause them to likely fail
Bang on here, the perfect manager with the perfect record won’t drop into the championship, you need someone on the way up/had success in a so called lesser league and are ready to try the next step, all of the above tick those boxes for me
Mostly on ****e and majority kids. Did the starting XI improve in any areas? Rusyn. Seelt. Mundle. Bellingham. Hjelde. Pembele. Mayenda. Semedo. Triantis. Dack. Aouchiche. Bishop. Styles (loan). Burstow (loan). ^ Lets be honest here, that’s really poor for £10m (like you claim) I’ll come back and discuss transfers once we’ve got a new manager in anyway.
I don't think there's such a thing as the perfect manager anyway. You can't judge someone solely on what they've won or where they've finished in a league. You have to consider it through the context of the squad they have, the money available, the quality of the opposition, the size of the club, and probably some other factors. Pep, as much as I admire him, wouldn't get the same results if he was manager of Rochdale, for example.
Yes, but it is possible for the club to reduce that number to the absolute minimum by making a decision that doesn't look like Speakman getting another yes man in. More people would be unhappy with Robinson than would be with Wicky Wicky Wild Wild West, for example.
Do agree with this too, young and foreign is the flavour of the month atm, it’s the route I hope we go down too, the only realistic option that doesn’t fit that criteria that people wouldn’t lose their minds over is Rosenior imo
