There's freedom of speech. And theres taking the piss, and disrespecting the feelings of fellow posters. Which is what a minority of people did yesterday.

It shouldnt be allowed to happen.

With Edge for example, if he started calling someone an f'ing N*gger in the street, he'd be arrested, punished and made an example of. Why should it be any different on here? just because its an internet forum, and not in the steet? Its the same principles

This entirely! I went onto GC last night to tell Viking Eric what I thought of him (unfortunately I think I'm the reason he then came onto here)...Some lad called utter **** then told me he hopes I die of a serious form of cancer...I didn't react but someone asked VE if he thought saying something like that was OK, he said he thought I shouldn't be offended. I explained to him that people could quite easily be offended, that for all 'utter ****' knew, I DID have cancer, or had recently lost a parent, wife, sibling or even child to cancer...VE response was that he had a relative who died so everyone should man up.

It completely sums up the pathetic children who inhabit that section of the forum, and I'm not referring to their age. I'm only 23 myself and we've got some 16/17 year olds on here that demonstrate a terrifyingly higher level of maturity than those set of a nonces!

As far as I'm aware, Syd and Mick attempted to stop it all by deleting a lot of the threads, which in turn just causes more uproar. I don't think it's the entirety of the GC lot who are that sick, just several individuals at the forefront of it all. Mick plans to make changes to the site within the next few weeks, aiming to, and I quote, make GC "less obvious". Obviously he can't delete it, as unfortunately it's the main principle of this site to be able to chat "freely" (however horrible that freedom turns out to be).

We shall see. Expect there to be changes though. Nothing too drastic, but changes nonetheless.

Also, if anyone pisses off to join another site, let us all know eh <whistle> I'm not getting split up!! :P

It's disturbing at the lack of respect people seem to have for each other. Especially on Internet forums. Who knows that ages of these posters are. Maybe they're in their 40's, or maybe even teenagers. No matter what their age though, if we were to meet in person. I'm 100% sure, they wouldnt repeat their actions.

Some very very cruel people out their. An utter shame.

It's just ****ing weird to be honest. Some of the GC lot are all in their 30s-50s. They'll all have a wife and kids and then they act all like how they do? Ridiculous. They're just like unethical, uneducated dick head kids for **** sake. The average age of the NUFC board is probably a lot lower yet I dare say we're a lot more mature...

I said one out of anger in the heat of the moment, I didn't actually mean it, and the pakki shop thing I wasn't even thinking. It's just when I was growing up in my area it's wasn't that big of a deal if you called it "the pakki shop". I wasn't thinking and I apologized for both incidents.

I haven't said anything racist since. I got a 4 day ban for it!

Those ****ers on GC keep on doing it because they've got no decency or common sense, and lack total respect for anyone else, and because they wont get punished for it!

Just because I've used racist words in the past, doesn't mean I should be branded a racist, and it doesn't mean I have no right to condemn racist and sick behaviour now.
 
Yeah, leave the Tash thing out of it, I understand it was 2 stupid moments. And many many people refer to shops like that, it's just the way it is, some people don't know any different nowadays. Not saying it's right, of course, it's just the way it is nowadays unfortunately.

Paki is technically a good word, really, doesn't it mean 'Pure'? In Persian I think. Obviously it's used as a derogatory term nowadays, which is a shame.
 
It's to be expected unfortunatly this happens when any famous person dies.

They can say what they want it doesn't change the fact he's a legend.

Yeah it always happens to be honest. That's the line that Mick has to consider. Double standards. He let jokes about Amy Winehouse go, but this is a bit more close to home, so to speak, so a lot more people got upset, understandably. Gotta see it from Mick's point of view, it's a tricky situation to be in.

I wouldnt wish misfortune on anybody. But, I suppose oneday, they will have some. May be, then they'd think about what they're doing with their lives. And will realise, posting ****e on a forum just isnt cool
 
I rarely or never go onto the C mainly because of the low level idiot crap that's on there.

TBH I think it's best to keep out of it and keep to the Toon message board or maybe an oppositions teams message board for honest chat or a bit of banter (not to abuse or be a pain in the arse).

If theses idiots come on our board looking to kick up trouble then we can take it up with Syd.

I messaged Syd last night about the Gary Speed Joke thread and said I thought it was out of order and the posters should be banned.

He said he was aware of it and it was being dealt with, didn't say how.

I think it is something he will be keeping a close watch over.
 
Syd was on the verge of quitting last night. Not sure if he's still going ahead with it or not, but that's what it looked like.

agree to a point he knew 606 was closing he posted links to this site and most importantly he knew what the crack on general chat was like so should have acted before 606 closed.it's not hard really a successful forum open to all people of all ages or a one where a sick few ruin it for everyone.
