Bruce out chants are all well and good, but personal abuse is uncalled for, and a disgrace.

Several people on this board are guilty of it, and the chanting at the SoL was awful.

Bruce Out chants are fine. calling someone a fat bastard and other personal attacks are abysmal.

Am I the only one who feels that way?

Calling him a fat bastard is personal and wrong, however calling him a clueless ****ing squashed nose **** who's has lost the plot with his ****ing pea sized brain is fine.

    Take your halo off Dans.

This, like any other walk of life is full of setbacks and disappointments and Gary Speeds tragic death for whatever reasons doesnt alter that.

Would I like to stand in a stadium with people shouting awful things at me? Of course not but I'm sure the £2m a year salary and prospect of £4m pay off will help soften the blow for Bruce somewhat. If that were the case, I'd happily put up with it. Football has always had its 'bad side' and if you're trying to tell me that you have always acted like St Peter then you're either lying or passionless. Have you never shouted abuse at an opposing player or referee? Have you never given your own player stick for a **** performance?

In the world of football, there are always elements of abusive language and behaviour but I agree it shouldn't be physically threatening or be directed towards his family.

Its the players that let Bruce down on Saturday - and his hapless tactics, team selection and substitutions I hasten to add - so maybe they should be the ones apologising this morning, not the fans? 3 home wins in 11 months is enough to warrant a fans anger and frustrations and unfortunately for the manager, its always him that pays the price for that.

Personal abuse is never acceptable. That said people do lose it now and again, it's easy to say things we don't mean in the heat of the moment.
Take Saturday, losing the lead to the bottom club at home. Then the killer blow in added time! Is it any wonder the crowds reaction? It's difficult to imagine a worse scenario for Bruce.

Do you think Bruce is on @ £40k a week? Fergie earns £1.5m per year reportedly, which equates to about £29k a week in salary.

If Bruce is sacked before the end of the year I'd say he'd be lucky to walk away with a£1m pay-off. I highly doubt he was handed a contract to say he'll be paid up in full if the board decide to sack him. Contracts are nowhere near as simple as that, they are crammed full of KPI's for the manager to meet. Failure to meet KPI's in any business is not rewarded (maybe bankers) and should allow any chairman to retract the contract with a pre-agreed release fee.

Bruce is desperate to cling on to his position because he simply has to turn things around, for his own sake. No club will employ him at this level for the simple fact that he's spent £700Trillion and got nowhere (regardless of how much the club clawed back in player sales).

I do hope he goes though, for the sake of your club. It won't be nice watching an ex United legend get his team relegated, let alone some of our ex players who served the club for years.

Terry, Obviously not prone to that info' but I'd bet you every penny I have and will earn in the next 20 years that SAF is on a lot more than £1.5m.

I'd also add that football is one of the few industries that pay very well for failure. (Banking being another)

Totally agree, it is a disgrace. It is our fans not our football making us a laughing stock at the moment for doing this. Criticise people's performance by all means, but not personal abuse.

We currently remind me of a certain NUFC 3 seasons ago...thinking we are better than we are etc, criticising management rather than the owner...can't see it going well at this rate.

Fergie on 1.5m a year? I would be shocked totally if that were true. I'd have thought he was on triple that amount personally.

The crack here is it would cost us around 4m to sack Bruce which is 2.5 years of his new contract.

Halo? Why am I wearing a halo if I say personal insults are wrong? Have I insulted people before? yes, when angry and generally when I know the person.

You said the other day that you dont agree with personal attacks and that Bruce is probably a decent bloke but a **** manager, but then and go and create a thread doing exactly that. Make your mind up.

I've offered Bruce my full support at the games where it counts but have my own personal opinions which can be vented on an internet forum. I don’t want him as our manager and I do think his b&w love affair has blinded him in derby games to our detriment. He is tactically poor, his team selections are defeatist and his inter-match substitutions are bizarre to say the least.

Time is up on Bruce and if he doesn’t like it tough. He is fantastically rewarded for that abuse and will be able to jet off to sunny climbs for a few weeks, if he is sacked.

I don’t condone it or join in with it at the stadium but I also don’t condemn fellow supporters for indulging.

    fully agree with this article.

Whatever your thoughts on Bruce's managerial ability, personal abuse is completely unacceptable.

If someone shouted it to you you would either knock their block off, or even go to the police. Just because he has a handsome salary shouldn't change that!

Thats the most ridiculous piece of utter crap I have ever read. Give your heed a shake. All of a sudden offereing an insult has made me the Grand master at a KKK convension. What a load of sanctimonius horse ****.

I have a big nose and I am overweight (just slightly mind Lol) and if someone arguing with me said piss off you big nosed fat twat it wouldnt strike me as racism at all you daft bugger. If I have a big nose and am a tad overweight, then they are just points to latch onto to make a point more telling. Plus. the last time I checked, calling someone a big nosed fat git wasn't against any laws of this land. Maybe you wish we did live in such a world but thank goodness for the rest of us we dont.

Is it a new offence to be noseist or anti-geordieist? If he had ginger hair would we be gingerist? Get a bloody grip man and think about what you are saying.

PS- if I was to receive a handsome pay off for being called a big nosed fat twat it would bother me even less.
