You've no idea whether it was whoTHEY wanted as first choice. Maybe they've been too hasty and taken the first thing to come along.
Dont get this " I will never post again if it isnt true " things can change at a drop of a hat in all walks of life. I have took jobs before and after sleeping on it picked the phone up and said look I have had time to reflect and sorry but the jobs not for me. Be no different for a footballer or coach / manager. Magnus would be a massive loss to the board, I have noticed a flurry of new comers and people who are only on here during transfer windows fishing for info, when they dont like what they hear it gets very RTG on here. Likes of Magnus and Smug are good active posters with more to offer than transfer / club gossip, I enjoy their input on all threads not just ones like this. Dont go anywhere lads, once the new fella is in place they will all scurry off back over the road.
How was it not? They spoke to candidates....the guy's season finished Sunday and a few days later its all done Pretty obvious they have got who they wanted
Football is like nothing else in terms of things changing quickly. Whatever the news was at 1pm this afternoon could now well be completely different. No reason at all for ITKs to stop posting if they are wrong on anything as long as it's done in good faith which I think the majority of it is. They certainly bring more to the board than I do
To be fair why shouldnt the club receive criticism in that scenario? There surely has to be a cut off from the club at some point, and if they have allowed themselves to be dragged on since Still left Reims to now then for it not to happen then that would be poor imo. I dont mind missing out on Still to say a Lens and wouldnt necessarily criticise SAFC for that, but if they have put all their eggs into the Still basket for it not to happen then that's poor (dont think this is the case if I'm honest mind).
Yeah this is where I'm at If we end up with Still then the club deserve praise for their patience. If we don't end up with Still, then the club do deserve some criticism for letting it draw out this long. That might not seem fair (and it possibly isn't). But that's life. What the club defintely won't deserve is the level of meltdown that will happen. It will be completely disproportionate. (it already is)
You don't know anything of what has gone on. It's amusing that people like you assume the club has been "played" or allowed themselves to be "dragged on" without knowing anything of the ins and outs of the proposed deal. Just focusing on the negatives.
You're just being obtuse, probably deliberately. Of course, they wouldn't have appointed someone they didn't want....you've sidestepped the argument...not for the first time.....it's what you're good at.
Yeah and tbf we will never really know if the club were ever close or seriously wanted Still (if he doesnt come). If we end up appointing Rosenior or Heck then I'll think we've missed out on our top targets, but never anyway of knowing for sure.
There is no argument, i cant say yes its a good decision just like you cant say its a bad one The club have done very well to act desivley and get the person who they wanted - instead of waiting 6 weeks to decide
