Agent pays Romano to say that Still has signed with their agency and is actively looking for a new position (ie nothing in the pipe line). Still then, two or three days later gets announced as Sunderland manager. Wow, what an agency, I must use them....etc

I would guess the change of agent isn't a recent development?
If he genuinely has just changed agents though and him coming here is not signed and sealed then there's no way it's imminent. Would be wrangling over who is due what, agreements would likely need to be redrawn etc.

I'd therefore say it's one of three things, the deal is done and he's changed agents, he changed agents ages ago and this announcement is for the agent's benefit or the change is genuine and current or he's not anywhere near being appointed as our head coach.

My advice is chill. Everyone is on edge, waiting for the smoke signals from the AOL and many are reading far too much into every tweet or SM post.

It will happen, we just have to be patient :emoticon-0148-yes:

That's right. It's out of our control, so no point in scrutinising every little thing on Social Media. I can appreciate why fans would be confused with this tweet, in a similar way to when Fishpaste posted his. It conflicted with everything we were hearing.

June 1st seems significant to me, or I believe it would have been announced by now. So, my guess, and it is only a guess, would be that Still has an agreement with Reims that he cannot deal with any other club before June 1st or will be penalised. Reims have got wind of Sunderland's interest and have questioned Still about it. He or SAFC then gets his agent to put this tweet out to put their minds at rest or throw them off the scent.

I think it’s an overly optimistic way of looking at it. Who benefits from Still looking more available?

I very much hope it’s as advanced as we are being told. I’m just question why that tweet would go out if it was.
Disagree that I’m being overly optimistic but agree about hoping it’s as advanced as we’re being told.

I think you’re looking for evidence of what’s going on but there just isn’t any yet.

I’m chilled about it all and hopefully everyone can cool there jets we can’t be having a 2nd melt down not this close to the weekend anyway

yeh I’m wanting proof it’s happening rather than starting from the assumption that it is.

So you're willing to believe any tweets that say it's not happening, but challenge any that say it is?

'kin ell man

I don't even want Still FFS :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I think you’ve read more into what I’m saying than I am.

I haven’t challenged the people saying it’s happening. I want them to be right.

But I fear way too many people are now assuming it’s happening and the meltdown if it doesn’t is going to be horrendous.

I find it easier to come from the assumption that it’s not happening until the club say it is.

I’ll add it’s not a case of only believing the “negative” tweets. I’m paying attention to all of them and not just dismissing ones I don’t like as being irrelevant.

This is true. We're almost at the stage now where if it isn't Still, the club are going to have to go out and get him, or the approval rating of the ownership will be through the floor and the new manager won't stand a chance.

Got to respect your objectivity mate.

DOUBLE-WINNER Raphael Wicky is a new name under consideration to become Sunderland’s next manager

Sun Sport understands that Will Still, who left Reims in France this month, remains Louis-Dreyfus’ preferred choice.

However, we have learned that a new name under consideration for the job is former Switzerland international Wicky - although he is also believed to be on the radar of Burnley.

There will be no coming back for Speakman. And the frenzy around Still hasn’t even come from the media this time.

We may end up with a better option than Still and some will be blasting him for “messing it up” with Still

I know very little about Wicky’s management career but it looks like he’s won titles in Switzerland so he clearly knows how to put a winning team together

Is this SAFC playing mind games with leaking another candidate?

Please either way just appoint one of them and end this :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm
