I don’t think there’s a single person on here that would defend Mone so not entirely sure who the outraged whataboutery is aimed at.
Has she actually commented on it yet? A lot of people with an axe to grind predictably losing their **** of course but really it was the choice of the circus with her or the circus without her.
She's said that she's been banned from standing at the GE, which makes the returning of the whip meaningless. On reflection, it seems that the delayed conclusion to her case was probably deliberate, so that they could take her candidature out of the hands of the local party and impose a different candidate. If that's correct, the handling has actually been ruthlessly efficient, if still pretty nasty. I heard Wes Streeting on LBC this morning and a lot of the time he had available was taken up with questions about the Abbott situation when all he really wanted to talk about was the NHS. When he did get onto the NHS though, he was hugely impressive, I thought.
Three police officers injured last night by violent Hamas supporters in Westminster, including a young policewoman who had a bottle smashed in her face by one of the protesting ****s. She's currently in hospital. Time to ban the Hamas marches in the UK.
Realistically if you ban them the troublemakers will still turn out in some way. They should have been policed properly rather than appeased from the start. Far too many blind eyes turned and they were always going to step it up. Election day will be chaos.
Anywhere else in Europe, the police would wear riot gear. I understand our coppers staying loose with the daytime marchers, but since it always kicks off in the evening, surely the police should have togged up colleagues ready to take over then.
