There's only so many uncapped players to risk at one time imo.
Shaw is so far and away our best left back (annoyingly, as there's so many right backs), that I think he should be given every chance to get fit in time.
That may be so, but there isn't 1 other actual left back in the squad who's had a better season than Mitchell ! Shaw hasn't been fit for months and even if he's declared fit for the Euro's he isn't gonna be match fit. Terrible squad choice in that position

Not much choice, that's the problem.
Has Mitchell had that good a season?
Palace, until recently have been struggling.
Haven't heard much about him.
Have you seen him play much this season?

I actually think Southgate has picked an excellent initial squad, considering what he has at his disposal.

My mate who goes to every Palace game said to me , that before Glasner took over Mitchell and Andersen were probably there best 2 players of the season. Olise and Eze had been in and out through injury. Since Glasner has arrived and the 2 fullbacks have become proper wingbacks, he says they have both been awesome along with the aforementioned midfielders and Mateta. Given the lack of actual left backs and Shaws injury, I just find it utterly clueless that Mitchall wouldn't be in the squad at least. I have no doubt thst we'll play a normal right back there, and other strong sides will target that area in particular

Palace fans may be a little biased.
There's been endless posts on social media from fans of different clubs saying that they can't believe this player and that player hasn't been selected.
Usually in positions where we have the most talent.

My point exactly, this us the area we have the least talent along with the centre halves. And he was very critical of the way Hodgson had them set up and was playing. I've seen enough of Mitchell, to think he's a more than useful player.

I live local to Palace and before Glasner arrived they really feared they were heading for a relegation battle, Hodgson's stale ideas were simply draining confidence and after a couple of defeats there were some ugly scenes around the ground which effectively did for him. The difference now is chalk & cheese, fast flowing and with Wharton really stepping up Eze & Olise are oozing with confidence. I don't know why Southgate would rather play players not entirely comfortable out of position but any weaknesses will be ruthlessly exposed at the business end of the tournament, we may have to hope it all clicks and the goals flow...

Just think Southgate gets pelters whatever he does.
We have no fit left backs.
Mitchell wouldn't make any difference imo.

I guess the seven, for me, are: Trafford, Dunk, Shaw, Quansah, Mainoo, Maddison, Watkins.

Anyone thinking of attending any of the group games? Git chatting with a guy on site yesterday who is going to the Germany v Scotland game. Bought his ticket through official UEFA channels - a snip at £430 <yikes> told him I hope it includes a chauffeur driven trip down the Rieperbahn and he gets his pick of the ladies on offer! Football for the fans? **** off UEFA

Shame for Dykes to miss out in such a cruel way.
Still to hear how bad the injury is and how long before he is fit again.

Was Dykes our only player the Euro's?
Any ex-players we can cheer on (except Kyle Walker)?
