Hamas hoped it could use the hostages as a human shield, as it uses Gaza schools and hospitals. Israel won't be blackmailed.

Have you asked yourself why Egypt and Jordan won't take temporary Palestinian refugees? Because they know the priority refugees will be violent militants that will sow discord and misery in their new home.

You didn't answer my question. Would it be legitimate for Israel to kill all 2 million Gazans in its quest to eliminate Hamas?

Palestinians are suffering because of the actions of the terrorists they support. Israel must take all reasonable steps to avoid collateral damage while hunting Hamas militants down.

Probably not but I wouldn’t bat an eyelid if I woke up tomorrow and the lot were gone. This **** has gone on about six months too long.

Israel plainly hasn't taken all reasonable steps to avoid collateral damage, but anyway you still haven't answered my question. How many Gazan dead is enough?

It depends on future events, and it's a nonsense to put a figure on it. Did the Allies put up a figure on it when Germany was bombed?

Ah, there we go, the WW2 comparison. The Geneva conventions, agreed after WW2, set out what should be considered legitimate in warfare. Israeli actions in Gaza are plainly war crimes in terms of collective punishment as set out in those conventions.

Still you haven't answered. When is enough enough?

When was enough enough? Hamas would’ve wiped out every Jew in the world on October 7th if they could have and the majority supported it.

That's Hamas, not all Gazans or all Palestinians. Is a new born child in Gaza to be considered a Hamas member and therefore a legitimate target? How does this end?

He’ll most likely grow up to want Jews wiped out so I’m not arsed one bit. This isn’t to say I want that scenario to play out but it’s preferable to Israelis being at constant risk.

The image of Shani Louk’s body displayed as a trophy on the back of a Hamas truck should have been the end of them. Instead it sparked worldwide support for their aims and an explosion of antisemitism. I’ll never understand it.

Why would he grow up to want all Jews wiped out? He might well have a beef with Israelis, but then that would likely be because they'd been bombing the **** out of his family. Maybe if Israel stopped its incursions into Gaza and the West Bank the risk to themselves might recede. 'From the river to the sea' is not just a Palestinian refrain...

We can all google stuff, Strolls. Quite a lot has happened in the last 47 years. The reality is there isn’t going to be lasting peace. It’s kill or be killed and I’m opting for kill if I’m in that situation.
