Someone started recording it and has posted it on Facebook, but only the second half, so it's missed the controversial bits... It hasn't been deleted, I think you just have to be a member of Hull City Banter on Facebook to see it.
The Trueman Show last night... A football club owner is oblivious of the fact that his entire life is a TV show and his friends and family members are mere actors. As he starts noticing things and uncovers the truth, the real truths come out...
Baz isn't going to jeopardize his close relationship with Acun by writing negative take on the evening. And I don't blame him he's got incredible access right now and a close relationship. Some thought it was a road crash some thought it was refreshingly honest. Its all just opinions.
I was going to listen to it but went to bed, two hours after it finished. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If it is available you want to listen to it as it isn’t black and white. A bit more nuance to it than that. Whether he should have said what he did is open to debate but he was merely saying what a lot of supporters did. It was obvious his frustrations were with Rosie’s style of football, especially at home, leading to a flat atmosphere at a lot of games and Rosie’s unwillingness to change his approach. Someone on this forum said that the Ipswich game will have pissed him off because he saw the atmosphere that could be created when we went for it in a game. Seems, from what he said as Acun mentioned that, that the poster was correct.
We've heard a lot from Acun and Tan about their view of the problems, and leaked stuff from the player(s) or their agents who went to Tan to complain. We haven't heard an alternative version of events from Rosenior, or Justin Walker, or Andy Dawson, or Greaves and Coyle, all of whom might have a different take on what happened and who said what and when. Trouble is, I think they're all honourable men who wouldn't throw people under the bus to make themselves sound good. Acun's still in credit for me because of the way he's transformed the club and improved things for the fans, but last night was very shabby.
Now obviously some managers regard high performance in training quite important, Rosenior been one of those. Now not all players give it all in training, there’s been some top players who don’t give a damn in training but their performances on the pitch are exceptional, Teves been one of them. Now that’s a little different with people that are overweight and not at those skills levels. If a player isn’t performing in training and in a match then you have a problem. Running round like a mad man in training isn’t everything, just like a striker running round like a mad man pressing defenders isn’t everything. Unfortunately I feel Rosie might have been a bit wooden in these terms. Maybe that’s an old fashioned view, with the Klopps and Peps of the world now a days, but I can assure you everyone in Bruce’s team won’t have been exceptional trainers, and he’s the most successful manager we’ve ever had.
Lmaoooo I think we’ve found Acun’s actual burner. https://x.com/hullcity90/status/1790118377777672513?s=46
Someone 'live tweeted' the event: https://x.com/KurtJohansson_/status/1790808400298729773 It's a very accurate assessment of what was said IMO
To Hull and Back go for 80 minutes an ep, what's the issue? We have eps as short as 25-30 mins. Perhaps some need a better attention span.
I'd also suggest that he is not basing his opinions on what he knows when he goes to Rosie and asks questions, he will be advised by a number of people including Tan. Every Owner I have worked with in another sport would be speaking to many people within the game in various roles. Even the most recent stubborn and single minded one I worked for would ring half a dozen people after a game for their thoughts on certain things. I'm not sure Acun is 'a fan' as much as people think. As many were pointing out on here we were poor in large spells of many games, and if not poor we were boring as hell. He used Jim Rodwell in the early days as a consultant to help him understand things better. Its crazy to think he has suddenly turned into some mad man who is picking the team.
And you often repeat lines back to people as a 'witty' repartee, which may have appeared that way the first time you did it, but as a regular recipient I would suggest that it's feeling a bit tired and unoriginal.
Yeah , we're never going to hear their side of it though , at least not while they're still working in football Steve Bruce is semi-retired and only now talking about some of the stuff with the Allams
If the Ipswich atmosphere is the benchmark I hate to break it to Acun, but games in August by nature won't have as much riding on them and thus not be as thrilling, as a game late in the season with our play off chances riding on it.
