That's very honest of you Bob. Not exactly an unprovoked outburst though, it's not very professional for Speakman to be giving it the big 'un in front of a crowd like that or to react in the way he did. Ooooh, take his pass away, Gerry Gerry behold my awesome power <laugh> Brian Potter-esque.

Sounds like exactly the kind of character who oversaw our stalling this year - I know best and don't like being told otherwise.

Sunderland AFC is pleased to announce several developments to the Club’s retail, ticketing and fan servicing operations.

Announced on Tuesday, a new 10-year partnership with Fanatics will commence in June with the launch of a new online store.

This will be followed by the opening of a new stadium store located at Black Cat House, which will be operated by Fanatics and open ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Fanatics has extensive experience of operating retail sites, with a network of more than 2,000 retail locations globally, meaning Sunderland fans can expect to enjoy a first-class shopping experience, whether they shop in-person or online.

The opening of the new stadium store at Black Cat House will result in the closure of the existing ticket office.

To ensure that supporters continue to have a one-stop destination for all of their ticketing needs, ticketing points will be installed in the North East Corner later this summer.

A bespoke online customer service platform, which will provide fans with instant support, will also be introduced during the off-season, with further developments to the Club’s servicing operation also planned.

This forms part of a renewed commitment to putting fans at the heart of the Club and follows the recent announcements relating to multi-million-pound investment in the Stadium of Light and an exciting new partnership with hummel.

Construction of the new stadium store and ticketing points will commence in May and during the interim period, a temporary store and ticket office will be housed in the current stadium store.

    Panel eight bricks

Unfortunately, the relocation of the stadium store and the Club’s ticketing operation will displace the personalised bricks located on panel eight in the East Stand.

We understand the emotional and personal significance of these bricks and we will be engaging closely with the supporters impacted to discuss next steps, as we plan to relocate the displaced bricks to a new location.

Although we have up-to-date contact details for many of the fans affected, the bricks on panel eight were installed more than 25 years ago. If you believe that you or someone that you know will be impacted by the changes above, please reach out to us as soon as possible.

To get in touch, please email[email protected] and a member of our team will ensure that you are supported throughout this process, which we will endevour to handle with care and consideration.

    Additional information

The stadium store and ticket office will be closed from Monday 6th May to Wednesday 8th May, but phonelines will remain open during this period.

Located in the West Stand next to main reception, the temporary stadium store and ticket office will open on Thursday 9th May.

Standard opening hours will be implemented, with the exception of Wednesday 22nd May when it will be closed due to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s Stadium of Light show.

Powered by Fanatics, the Club’s new online store will launch in June followed by the opening of the new stadium store at Black Cat House later in summer 2024 alongside the new North East Corner ticketing points.

Fantastic news - different title to Davison. Does this suggest we are still to bring in a replacement for him?

Only seen Bruce speak the once, but he was hugely impressive. Everything he said resonated, and early signs are that he intends to make an impact and drive us forward. He will get the off-field stuff bang on, I’ve got no doubt. Now we just need to get the on-field stuff right…

You don't get that high up in the NFL without being an expert in your field.

He's supposedly a class lad too, shame he's best mates with Proctor though <laugh>

    Edit MLS not NFL <doh>

Dunno if anyone has their loved ones ashes scattered at the stadium

Sunderland AFC recently announced a comprehensive stadium development plan to improve fan experience at the Stadium of Light.
This includes the installation of a new state-of-the-art pitch ahead of the 2024-25 season, which will replace the stadium’s existing playing surface.
Due to the extensive work involved, we have been advised that the ashes of people previously interred at the stadium will be disturbed.
The Club plans to relocate the earth from where ashes were placed to a redeveloped memorial garden outside the Stadium of Light.
This will act as a dedicated area of remembrance for supporters of all faiths and be accessible throughout the week, including matchdays.
Supporters who’s loved one’s ashes have been laid to rest at the stadium are also invited to the stadium from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday 14th May.
This will ensure that they are able to observe a period of reflection before this process commences and allow them to confirm the site where the ashes of their loved ones were placed.
If you would like to attend, please contact [email protected]
The Club has on record the locations of where ashes have been placed, but if you would like to confirm this via email, please feel free to do so via the address above.
Sunderland AFC would like to thank supporters for their understanding relating to this incredibly sensitive matter.

Just been reading about Saudi Arabia and this mega city (The Line) that they are building and how they are going about it.
I reckon there will be a few in Newcastle worried if they decide to extend St. James’ Park.

Just been along to the club shop and picked up one of the Avec range padded jackets for £18 with season card discount. These were originally about £80 I think. The shops being stripped for the impending move to black cats house but there’s some cracking bargains to be had amongst the Avec stuff in particular

I agree mate I was at 4 away games before I left and the atmosphere was very good and the crowd never stopped singing and chanting with most supporters just getting behind their team.

When he came I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole on reddit looking into what they thought of him over there.

Oddly enough, not a lot apparently. Which surprises me as he seems to have been absolutely top notch from the day he join us.

    Oh well, their ****ing loss.
