To be fair to Bob, he didn't say Nixon emailed him. He said he read in an email that our news would come last week of May. His next line was about Nixon. I think his next line "it came from Nixon today..." meant that the news people are hearing came from Nixon.

Didn't Bob say he'd told Nixon he knew **** all and to stop winding fans up? I assumed that was in the email.
Although why anyone would bother to email Nixon is beyond me.
It’s how I read it at first to be fair. Bob’s writing style isn’t the best bless him. Overall I like the bloke but I do get confused

Saw that yesterday. He's apparently well respected as a coach but I'm not sure I'd want him as our head coach.
