“I think it was a deserved point, without us playing as well as we have done recently, we had solid shape, good organisation and good endeavour but we lacked that bit of quality. We worked hard for the point.”

“he pleasing thing for me was that when that moment of quality doesn't happen then you need to be able to rely on the key fundamentals – the shape, the basics, the energy and effort of the team – and I think that showed in abundance today.”

• The Hornets

Scott Loach
Lee Hodson, Adrian Mariappa (c) - own goal 46 mín., Nyron Nosworthy, Carl Dickinson - goal 25 mín.
Mark Yeates, Jonathan Hogg, Prince Buaben, Michael Kightly
Chris Iwelumo, Troy Deeney for Craig Beattie - goal 42 mín. - 67 mín.

Substitutes: Jack Bonham (GK), John Eustace, Troy Deeney, David Mirfin, Joe Garner

“Over the piece we deserved it. t was a very good performance, but we've been very good in a few games, so I wouldn't put it above anything else. It's important psychologically to build on another home win and get two in a row, but also to beat the team at the top of the tree as well.”

“To send the supporters home happy when there are as many as there were today, you're just hoping to keep them with us. It's important they see a BristolCity team who are fighting for the right result, know how to see a game out and have got used to winning again. That, for me, is worth its weight in gold, and hopefully they can be proud of their team tonight.”

• The Robins

David James
Cole Skuse, Liam Fontaine (c), James Wilson for Lewin Nyatanga - 89 mín., Ryan McGivern
Stephen Pearson, Marvin Elliott - goal 44 mín., Neil Kilkenny, Brett Pitman for Kalifa Cisse - 83 mín., Albert Adomah
Martyn Woolford for Nicky Maynard - 65 mín.

Substitutes: Dean Gerken (GK), Martyn Woolford, Yannick Bolasie, James Wilson, Brett Pitman

Current form
For the second game running Watford are able to look down on their opponents, which is a strange location to be in. Bristol City are a very different team to Doncaster and are one of the best performing teams in the league, only a terrible start to the season, with a different manager, has left them near the bottom. A difficult match for both sides Watford’s home form is very good with three wins together.

Akureyri's Prediction: 1-1 There will be no reason to see either team lose but the outcome of this match will help neither team, except to pull away from CoventryCity.

Nice one AK - I am going for a 2-1 Watford victory..2-0 nil up just after half time, Brizzle get one back and we have a stressful last 30 minutes

Top notch as per always AK.

I will stick to what i have said before. This result will depend entirely on who plays for us. With Hogg and Sordell i think we can win 2-1, but without them i can only see a 0-0 draw.

Draw would be a decent result but I believe we'll get the 3 points to take us out the drop zone

2.1 city,as said to the saints fans at present no side will stay with us.
They thought they only had to turn up to win some predicting a 5.0 saints win.
The team is red hot and on fire.
Seriously think city for another away win.
Onwards and upwards.

Loving this.........people look down at the bottom and see City there and think straight away "3rd off bottom, they must be realy crap, we will surely breeze past that lot!".......West Ham, Millwall, Saints anyone?
Spirits are high, Nicky and Albert are on top form, bring it on!
0-2 for me.

No NPC opponents are easy. Watford won't want to be dragged into the mire by losing to us and we mustnt underestimate them.
If we keep focussed with the same attitude and workrate as the last 3 games no team will beat us and we'll march on all the way to the prem. However, switch off for a second and it could be very different.
My heart says 1-0 to city, but my head says a draw.

Of course you are right bcfcredand white, switch off for a second and you might be punished. Just try predicting the results of ten games in this league each week and you soon come to realise that any result is possible. I will go for a draw as well, but wouldn't be surprised if either side won.

A hard fought scrappy draw ,Bristol on one hell of a roll but it has to end atsome stage , would be nice if it is tuesday:)

Bad weather predicted as well which will level things up going for a 1-1 draw!

You City fans seem to think that as a result of 3 wins from four (granted one of them was against the saints) that you are unstoppable!! Just as we would do well not to underestimate you, you would do well not to underestimate us. We have the same record, the only difference being that an incompetent linesman cost us a deserved point against Boro.
