Think we going to have to disagree here Dan , I would far rather have a cotonesque figure commanding his box ! Even saw him shove his defenders out the way once or twice:) You just knew that 90% of the time the ball went in the area it was his !! , I didnt have heart attacks every time the opposition attacked with him! The only watford Keeper I could say that about! If Scott would take control more ,imo he would turn himself from a good goalie , to a really good goalie of premiership quality! thus making more millions for uncle baz.
 
Agree with you Norway,as I have said Scott does make some great saves,when he learns to take control of his area he will be a valuable part of our team. My one concern is he's had a long period to learn this but still hasn't....I wonder if this is down to the training he is given,when I watch him warming up and is collecting crosses nobody challenges him,surely somebody should be.
Dan,as for he 'doesn't need to take control,he can leave it to his defenders'. That's not feasible, a defender needs to rely on his goalkeeper to control his area,not the other way round.

I agree that for the last two seasons, Scott didn't take control of his area. I don't agree that that hasn't changed. He is far more in control now, the defenders often know when he will come for a ball, and occasionally there are lapses. He's not perfect, but he's getting there, and i'd hate to lose him in January.

PS: i bet the bristol city board are fed up with this thread!
 
He has improved<yikes> and I did hear him shout commands at the BCFC game! I am sure in the past and I don't remember which keeper was in goal might have AC or RL that we used to warm-up with someone standing in the way for the keeper. Might actually have been BF!

He still lacks authority and yes I do get jittery when crosses are pinged in, but over all I would say in his report card ' Must try harder' sorry:(
 
What i will do is remove it from the BCFC board, that way we can keep talking on it, but they wont have to see it. Sound fair??
