Wages would be a massive stumbling block on both. Not for me. I trust our scouting network have already got players lined up that are both within our budget and wage structure. Random question - the club normally release a “town in 5” video after a win. Last season, after exeter, we got a “town in 25”. Nothing yet since Saturday - anyone know if it’s coming?

I am resisting comments and the annual ritual speculation and totally trust our Club management, scouts et al to do the job and get us ready as can be by August.

Both talented players, but I'm seeing £60 million quoted for the two of them. SIXTY MILLION?! I know we've been outside the Premier League for a couple of decades, but that's an absolutely ridiculous number for the two of them. Nketiah isn't up to standards for a team chasing the title, but he might be decent for us (certainly gives us a different dimension as a pacey forward). Smith-Rowe has bags of ability, but he has been crocked for the last couple of years, so he's potentially on the decline.
I'd maybe entertain a loan move for one of them, possibly Smith-Rowe, as a low risk, high reward type deal. But I wouldn't be spaffing £60 million on them both. Best to prioritise defence first in my opinion. As others have said, this is not even paper talk but unsubstantiated social media gossip. So I'm taking it with a lorry load of salt.

Seriously that is quite cheap, you should see some of the crap we signed for between £25m and £40m - Remember Rutter cost us £40m and although he is decent at this level he isn't worth half that.
I would imagine you won't do any business in the PL from a buying point of view, as a newly promoted team it just doesn't happen due to the inflated prices.

I expect Ashton and KMc have been working for months on a Plan A and Plan B depending on which Division we are in.They'll then go about the business without any fuss or distractions and we are best off ignoring the unfounded rumours and white noise.No doubt those they do sign will be fully vetted to fit in with our style and culture.I trust this regime 100% to do the best to make us a decent Prem side.

They will have a plan A and a plan B, honestly, we all do it and it's not until you are back in the PL you realise it really has been ruined by money. We did uncover Gnonto for £3m but that was a rarity.
Agents run it all now, if you find a player, his agent will go around a dozen other clubs saying "Ipswich and McKenna want to sign this player". If your scouts find someone another scout will also be going in, despite what you think, newly promoted clubs are not an attraction, nearly all signings will be a gamble and it has to be a gamble with the possibility of relegation in mind.
Wage wise you will be competing with those in a far better position, even teams like Brighton are so far ahead of those who are promoted
We beat Ipswich and Leicester home and away, if we get promoted through the playoffs, most of our fans are expecting a fight at the foot of the table. We have half a dozen player who will have to return from loan who we will no doubt sell, the likes of Harrison at Everton, Marc Roca, Aaronson, Wober and Llorente. Despite those funds we know we haven't the funds to really compete, we all dream though.
Do I want promotion YES but it's not the joy you hope it will be
