Still left Reims early for a reason - stating he’ll “see you very soon” on his social media. The stars seem to be aligning a bit too much on this one. He’ll want to be straight back in to management.

I think so but makes sense to box it off completely now so it's done.
I still don't understand why it couldn't just be announced, he can continue with getting the licence? The club will know they have a fanbase clamouring for an appointment, a playing squad wanting to know who is going to be coaching them next season and potential new signings who will want to know what they may be coming in to.

I'm not saying it's not Still but if it is and the three week thing is correct then I personally think it's more likely due to tying up some sort of contractual stuff (with Reims) than it is to do with his course.

Hopefully the club announce something soon as I can see it turning messy again if there's no football and just silence from the club. I'd prefer the club to have no leaks tbf, unlike West Ham, for example, where everything comes out, including the team.

If it is Still and he's completing his course. I'm sure someone said the last part of his course is 4 days long. Which could lead to this Friday (clutching) or more than likely Reims season finishes in 3 weeks so we're waiting for that.

Funnily enough I know someone who's nephew went to school with Still and his brother in Belgium, don't think they were mates though unfortunately for us <laugh><doh>

Think people are misunderstanding me a bit. I want a solid structure at the club, with the employees having the freedom to make good decisions for the benefit of the football club. You don't get that if the owner is making the decisions that people they have employed should be making.

If Speakman is at the club, whether people like him or not, he should be the one making the decisions because it keeps the hierarchy and structure in tact. If he is not going to be at the club because of either poor performance, for which he should be sacked now, or because he's going to Lyon, we should put him on gardening leave like the mags have done with Ashworth for example, then a new DoF should be in place soon. If the new DoF is involved as others have suggested then that is fine but we have options which don't leave it a big secret when there's no real reason for it to be one.

I really dislike owners making the decisions or worse, the manager being allowed to bring in a DoF of their choosing (see Stoke and Neil). If we go the route of hiring a coach first and then trying to bring in a DoF does that not limit the pool as some may not like that coach or want the power to bring their own in. Also, let's say KLD brings Still in as his choice, then we replace Speakman with a new DoF and in 8 months time we aren't playing well does that DoF have the power to make a change or is that then all on KLD?

Mess was the wrong word, I just feel uncomfortable with decisions being made by either Speakman, who I don't particularly trust, or KLD, which I disagree with.

Hierarchy and structure are important. Don't break it.
Most big decisions will be taken after consultation with the board of directors. However certain directors will hold more sway depending on their areas of expertise. But the fact remains that appointments of DoF and head coach will normally be approved at board level. So the arguments on decision makers could be fairly moot.
It could be that KS has had his wings clipped a bit or it could be that KLD and a trusted advisor from the borders are holding interviews whilst KS has been tasked with getting recruitment right.
It could be neither of these scenarios, truth is we don't know and everybody is using rumour and supposition then filling in the blanks to try and work out what is happening.

Maybe. I have said it's complicated and expensive. Could be a number of factors. I don't know.

I'll be ok if someone is in before end of May. I personally hope they have finally landed Still.

Liam Rosenior sacked by Hull.

Interesting one
I hope he's not considered for our job. Underachieved with the squad at his disposal (particularly in the second half of the season) and painfully slow, boring football for the most part.

As I said the other day, the fact Still is doing his course right now seems quite positive. There's no way he was booked on this course a week ago whilst still Reims manager. So he's moved quickly to fit it in. Must want to be back in work quickly.
You cant just join a cohort at the drop of a hat mate. I suspect it has long been booked. Plus if it was day one of his last block yesterday he will finish it Thursday.

He would have been doing training with Reims all week surely.
If he has done all other blocks alreqdy he would likely have missed some Reims training. His brother probably took over. It is a hell of a time commitment which is why most get it done before thinking about the top job.
