That’s why I keep asking if there’s any story on the DOF. We don’t know who’s doing what, getting it right is what matters but it helps when personalities, beliefs, methods align, The initial identification, due diligence, conversation will have happened so the last bit being down to the board with help seems ok ish, but the down side of a DOF leaving at short notice is that there’s a messy overlap which is why I always wanted Speakman to stay with extra input / less power. There’ll be some messy moments as there is after any change.

It is a curious one that its so well known that KLD wants Still, but we may not end up with him.
Better to be talking about Maric and Still than the usual roundabout of coaches

Either one excites me. Just want a structure which will help them succeed. Both need a good structure, Maric due to is lack of experience as the main coach probably needs someone there to lean on, Still due to how bad his relationship with the Reims board was desperately needs a structure that will empower him. Can't have a Mowbray situation where he's digging out the board and the strategy, Still isn't shy in the media.

Any coach needs a strong structure behind them. I believe Speakman has too much influence in ours currently and hope that is changing for the better

He's on a rolling contract that probably ends on 30th June, so he's still employed, don't think he can do too much harm watching u21s but I suppose he has to do something while he's still being paid.
Hopefully nowhere near the important decisions. I'd rather he was watching the u21s than sitting in on interviews for new head coach

You can’t argue with his progress at this level of the club.

I actually think he's done a decent job while he's been here, we are certainly in a better position than when he came in.
Just think it's time to change, I'm quite happy with the model with a couple of tweaks.
Need a bit of a reset

Been a while since I been anywhere near itk as most of people I knew are no longer at the club. One or two still are though and saw one of them on Sunday, who said there are going to be major changes shortly. They would know if that was the case.

I agree. Been good at first team level more than bad and good elsewhere in the club, this season though has taken a turn that needs a rescue

We can expect shareholder change, operational change, commercial change, a new DOF and a restructured coaching team. That’s a fair bit without any surprises

I'm really off internet ITKs. When things are stated as fact when they're plainly not it does more harm than good.

I think one of the problems a lot of us have with this is that we're not entirely sure what KS duties actually are. If he's the DoF,then it's hard to argue that he shouldn't have any influence on the footballing structure...surely it must be part of his remit to establish it and oversee it. As I understand it from the comments of people on here who seem to know,it's his personality and the way he goes about exerting his influence, rather than his right to perform his duties which gets people upset.

You could well be correct, having not met the bloke, i couldnt possibly comment and dont have any real opinion on his personality. I do believe from the outside looking in that he is far too involved with the "day to day" side of things with the first team. His comments about how they discuss tactics, line ups etc as a team but its the Head Coach who has the final say, just seems a bit too involved for me

Add to that an extremely important transfer window and you realise that there is a lot going on.

I worry that there's too much happening this summer and it will negatively impact at least the start of the new season.

Thats why the head coach needs to be in as soon as possible, so he can at least work with the squad we have. I fully believe a half-decent manager would get this squad firing as long as there is no influence on his team selection or tactics.

First working day since season ended. Are we expecting news today/ this week. Have to be honest and say I think we need something sooner rather than later. I thought we might have had something over the weekend tbh. Time is of the essence in my opinion, so much to do, so little time to do it.

If you assume Still & Maric are the two in the running:

one is doing his pro license in Belgium and the other is still taking games at the under 19 level.

I reckon it’ll be another few days at least.
