I’d make the joke about them having a short journey home but I don’t want to steal Peej’s moment.

Far more than the team deserve, at least they had the balls to go over and face up to it at the end - hate it when teams slink off.

Tbf our players always go over. But yeh our away support has always been brilliant and they don't deserve the **** they've been served up tonight (and most away games) by this shambles.

Man Utd always sell out but they never sing when they are getting beat up here, easy to support when things are going well.

    Someone tell Olise they won.

Him and Eze look like they've had a bust up and told to go out and do the interview.

Har har... we've beat you the last 3 times haven't we?

But yea, Liverpool are the same, plenty of noise til they are behind then not a peep.

Liverpool this season didn't make a sound until they turned things around and won right at the end.

This is arguably the worst United team since their relegation back in the 70s (it is IMHO) ... I say that as one who witnessed that relegation... and as one who didn't particularly enjoy it and certainly didn't revel in it - indeed I remember being quite saddened ... it was a case of a once great but, by then, ageing team that had many players past their sell-by dates (ironically one of them, Dennis Law, had moved across the City and scored against them in a win at Old Trafford) ... and yet it was still unbelievable that they ended up going down ... almost unthinkable...

... but this lot are definitely worse for me, given that the squad has been assembled from all over the world and at astronomical cost ... you can excuse lack of ability... but never lack of effort and commitment... and unfortunately they seem to have the latter in buckets ...

For me the Premier League needs a competitive Manchester United but the rebuild needed can't be underestimated... they are way behind the top 3 and whilst Chelsea are currently giving their supporters every reason to believe they can mount a challenge next season, United fans must be dreading it ...

They’ll inevitably be back but why does the league need a good United (or any club)? It’s considerably more fun when they’re ****.

Things can change very quickly. Was only 2 years ago when Arsenal didn't even qualify for CL allowing Spurs top 4. Yet the following year and a few good signings they were challenging for title.

Fair assessment Fosse, I weren't around back then but a couple of the posters on our board were and probably can comment. The only bit I disagree with is the last part. I never dread it, always the optimist and the way I see it, I've always relished the turn around and improvement. And even though I don't know about the 70's there's no doubt that feeling's bcos of the period at the end of the 80's and where we were and then obviously the turnaround after that. Nothing beats it.

Man Utd are brilliant every time they come to Sunderland. Best away fans in the premier league. I don’t believe you, btw. Every other clubs supporters acknowledges how good their away support is.

Not until I forced it on them and even then they weren’t much help.

I opted for the Honey nut cornflakes. Keep the chicken salad for my dinner tomorrow dinner time.

Loved your team in the 70s under 'the Doc' who wasn't fussed about ditching the old guard and bringing in hungry young guns ... Steve Coppell and Gordon Hill (from Millwall as I recall) to play on the wings and with Stuart Pearson up front - brilliant attacking football that went down well with the many a neutral as well as the United faithful...
