If KLD doesn't trust Speakman to make the head coach appointment, he needs to sack him NOW.

If KLD is using outsiders to help with the head coach search, he needs to sack Speakman NOW.

You can't keep a DoF in position, allowing him to make decisions on the squad which is obviously why he was at the u21 game today, if the owner doesn't trust him.

We can't let Speakman run the summer window if KLD doesn't trust him. We can't have a sitting duck DoF, who will be in charge of the transfers? Who will set the plan?

You can't have a broken hierarchy at a football club. The DoF needs to be the chief decision maker and thats who the head coach needs to answer to.

If KLD wants to keep Speakman, he needs to let him do his job.

I'm a happy clapper but I think we look an absolute mess at the moment based on the rumours floating around. Where's the structure? Who's making the decisions? Are they fit to be making decisions?

Its all rumours at the minute mate so lets just see how it plays out

Im sure more will become clearer over the next couple of weeks

Thinking about other DoFs, Hughes and Wilcox for example, decisions have already been made, even if they aren't in post yet. In fact, if memory serves most changes in roles of that ilk occur well away from this time of year. My gut feeling is Speakman isn't going anywhere.

So why is KLD leading the head coach search?

We wont know that, i dont care who makes the decision as long as its the right decision

At my club we brought in a manager before the DoF was brought in but its worked really well

If both are brought in by KLD with the same vision then itll work - obviously depending on their personalities but thatll be picked up in the interview process

Theres far too many if buts n maybes at the minute - im just going to see how it pans out instead of trying to 2md guess what is happening

I disagree completely with this. The correct process is hugely important. What does KLD actually know about football coaching? I like him, seems a good owner but when it comes down to interviewing candidates what does he know?

I agree with your sentiment but a lot of clubs don’t even have a director of football type person and it’s all on the owner. I don’t mind KLD leading it (if he is).

Frankly Speakman’s background is in academy coaching anyway so I don’t see how he’s MUCH more qualified than KLD anyway (considering KLD has a football coaching degree)

We also might not be a mess, if you don't listen to the rumours floating around. We have no idea who is making the decision on the next head coach

And thats the problem. It should be the DoF. There shouldn't be a mystery over who is the decision maker.

Fair enough thats your opinion but i just want the right people in no matter how we get to it. Doesnt mean the process is wrong with KLD deciding who to come in.

You dont know whose involved in the interview process though, folk are just guessing who is n isnt involved

It looks a mess because we have no idea who the decision maker is. Maybe i'm over reacting but Speakman is either making the decisions many don't want him to be making, or we have a sitting duck DoF not being allowed to do his job. I'd argue that's a mess.

There probably isn't any mystery who the decision maker is, the club do not have to tell us who it is.
There have been rumours that a foreign bloke was doing the interviews in Munich.
He could be the new DOF. Just because the club haven't announced it yet.
