I used to proudly tell everyone that I was a unionist and didn’t want Scotland to leave.
I don’t give a ****, now. Sick of their racist pish and blaming all their mistakes and downfalls on Westminster. Give them independence and let them crack on for all I care.

I am English but have lived in Scotland for nearly 20 years. I have supported Scottish Independence for 50 years.
I am in no doubt Scotland AND England will both be better places to live when they are Independent.
This has nothing to do with anti English except for a few nutters. For the Scots it is not about England it's about their right to make their own decisions.

That would become the site for the Scottish navy with Independence because the subs would have to move to England. At the moment Scotland has one or two boats patrolling the Scottish coast, a coast far bigger then England. This is where huge amounts of drugs are landed because it's not policed. That mean first port of call is Glasgow to sell them.

Scotland can make its own decisions on most things, now. However, that statement in itself is ironic when it also wants to rejoin the EU.

I’m a Geordie, we have a pretty unique connection with the Scots and I was told twice in 5 years up there to **** off ‘home’ for being an English bastard. The Scots do downplay the anti-English sentiment but you can always feel it brewing under them and it always raises its head every now and again.

Pro rata the drug deaths are way higher than England and Wales. It’s an epidemic up there.

I am not downplaying any anti English ness I just don't see much of it because it is not the norm. There is banter but it's like you going to Sunderland and being told to **** off. Scots are more friendly in my experience just like Geordies are. I am originally from London and I find the North much friendlier. It's one of the reasons I live here. There is a hate of Westminster and Tories.
I support Sunderland and I’ve never been told to **** off when I go there. About 25% of our match day support are Geordies. Even if that did happen, how is that even remotely similar?
Imo, they do hate Westminster and Tories but use that to hide behind their hatred of anything English. What does the English football team have to do with the Tories and Westminster?…

No it's one of the basic reasons for wanting Independence. They are just 30 miles from Glasgow and 800,000 people. They wouldn't put them near Portsmouth because of the population but Glasgow is ok. They would probably agree to a transition period of maybe some years, but they could not remain in an Independent Scotland.
I live in a small village where there are quite a few Geordies who have lived there for years.
Scotland won’t get a say on how long the subs stay there. If they need to move they’ll need to wait until somewhere suitable is procured and then the complications of getting everything moved across. The stakes are too high with them, Faslane is critical to the US and NATO. Scotland aren’t going to mess about with national security like that. It could take 20 years before they’re moved.

I just watched series on Sunderland football club. Really good , your supporters are amazing. So as a Geordie I assume you come from Newcastle? Is that right? If so why do you support Sunderland and not Newcastle?
Tyneside. Where I’m from the support is split 50/50. We are all Geordies, though.
I'm the same, I actually want Scotland to leave. I think it will be a major benefit to the North of England and Wales. Both these places could do with the money Scotland spunks up the wall.
I also will love when tons of things are taken off them and there's protests in Edinburgh like "DA TARTAN TORIES TOOK ME NANS MEDS OFF ER!!"

I think Scottish independence is a bit of a pipe dream tbh. I know they want to be in the EU still, and I get that. But as a stand alone nation there's no way they could survive without the financial and logistical support of the UK.

It’s how the NHS, Military etc would be split/supported that interesting.

You're English and live in Scotland and want Independence
Yet there are Scots in England who don't want independence, so what gives you the right as an Englishman to dictate what should occur. It would be like me going to Catalonia (to live) and demanding Independence, I wouldn't do it, I'd keep my nose out.
If Scotland want independence let them have it I've said many a time, but just because you rock up here with some so called facts, don't make you right.
