How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters

Anyone think that if the GE had happened earlier... BEFORE these council elections, that these results wouldn't have been so bad for the Tory councilors.

I say that because the turnout and non-turnout is imo a definite fck you to the Tory government. Had the Tories been trounced in a GE, then ppl would've given their verdict on them and been more focused on local issues in council elections.

Yes.

There are also people so bunged up and desperate to make a noise about Israel-Palestine they're using these elections to shout at Labour.

But the locals are for like, bin collections. Not international politics

Well they've voted them all in so I guess the bins are not so important.

For me it shows the Tory strategy is one of total clusterfck. They've lost **** loads of councillors, and they will no doubt get battered in the GE. Whereas they could've at least minimised damage at the local election level.

Don't know what to make of any of it tbph. Neither party is going to change the wider political landscape abroad, but I just hope things change domestically. We never seem to have the money domestically, but we always seem to find the money when it comes to war, whatever region of the world that may be in, then war leads to the need for the cost of aid.

and then leads to all the refugees we have to take in which further requires our local councils to fork out more to support them

I feel like I'm being gaslight by this reporting to be honest.

Labour have absolutely pulled away with no troubles at all, the only parliamentary seat up for grabs was a Labour gain with over 50% of the vote.

But the reporting is all about Tees Valley, the fact Rishi is doing all right and Labour can only win 90 seats at a GE.

What the **** are these people smoking.

Yup, and that's without the cost of rebuilding all the infrastructure to rebuild the areas previously destroyed.
