Spot on. Very likely happened, and,in a way, although it may have denied us a short term fix, has resulted in us not having a Grigg around our neck.

He's just not been able to take that next step, and his personality has shortened the amount of goodwill available while he's tried to learn how to.

Replacing him with someone able to take that step is key.

I’m not a huge fan of Speakman, but the fact we’ve now got so many youngsters means we can give them a bit of time. I haven’t gave up hope on the likes of Hemir or Ba yet.

We all remember what Neil was like in his first full senior season in league one, he looked pretty poor at times but has now improved to be undoubtedly our best CM.

Summer recruitment doesn’t need us to litter the squad with more youngsters though, some players 28+ years old would do us no harm.

Good post. A fully fit Cory, and Dack( though I think he'll go?),a ready CDM and a ready striker. Add a great coach...injured players back.....good to go! <laugh>
And,for those looking for experience in our squad,we've talked about this before, all these players have another season of experience under their belt. The likes of Patto,Hume,Ballard,O9,Neil,Ekwah will now becoming experienced Championship players.

I think another window of 20 year old French vaguely attacking players who don't know their best position would send the support over the edge tbh.

Experienced goalkeeper, centre half, centre midfielder, centre forward and we're away.

Maybe not that, but I'd happily have a prospect who's career has stalled a little for each of the positions you mention to see if we can get them back on track.

Are you honestly trying to say that you believe that we have not tried to bring a proven striker? There are so many variables that could knacker discussions.

Also the first 2 windows we didn't bring a striker in we have to remember RS was still here, if Broadhead would have known Stewart probably wouldn't play at all I think he would have signed.
Stewart had an offer on the table making him the Highest player at the club. We couldn't go out and sign an experienced striker on top wages for Stewart to then sign a new contract, I don't think people realise how close he was to doing that.
In the 2 windows since we have tried to bring strikers in that didn't materialise.
Yes that is down to recruitment and its their fault it didn't happen but I don't think it was for the want of trying

All I’m saying is it’s a competitive game. Be it money or choosing competitors, whatever. We have brought strikers in who aren’t good enough for now, even the loan, then failed to improve when that was clear and as a result we haven’t done that well, it’s made for some dull entertainment and poor home results. Overall I don’t mind the approach we have but it’s been misjudged. That’s just an honest reality. For a team who can’t afford waste, as the accounts show, that means something will inevitably change for those making those judgments.

I am trying to see Speakman has too much say and has been too rigid with his decisions.

It's another one of these accusations chucked at the club- "KLD won't spend money", "The new manager won't be allowed to bring in his own staff", "Speakman is too inflexible". None of them are logical arguments and they don't stand up to any kind of scrutiny.

this might be the first time we actually see a manger that KLD wants and not all on speakman,
Still is a massive risk but so is anyone we get
the difference with still hes actually an exciting one

on the championship pages when still gets mentioned nearly every single fan is wanting them at there club

we were 6th in jan still are squad isn't as bad as its being made out to be, yes it's missing some stuff but any decent coach will get a tune out of are squad, mowbray done it, and even beale still has us around the playoffs, if Still lives up to his hype and if the changes that are coming in the summer are correct
i'm going to predict we'll all be hopefully very happy come the start of the season
