Think he'd be mad to personally.

Managers, IMO, should never ever leave a club they're settled at, to a team in the same division. The only real exclusion from that is to go to one of the top top clubs.

    Next joke? <laugh>

They’re basically promoted but Brighton want him if/when De Zerbi leaves. I don’t have a clue if he’d be tempted or not…

100% this. It was a stupid idea to stick the fans up there, we put them as far away as possible from our noisiest fans where the acoustics also act like a megaphone even if there are only a few away supporters.

Move when you are on the up and when you hit a ceiling at club your at. Ipswich have done great but they've been swept along with momentum and confidence but they will really, really struggle in premier and get relegated. Wilder did same thing as mckenna and he's now on decline.

Taking charge of the remaining games though so we would still be looking at a late May appointment if he's the one we choose.

Ignore this, the statement says he is stepping down as of today.

Following a meeting held this morning between President Jean-Pierre Caillot, General Manager Mathieu Lacour and head coach Will Still, it was mutually agreed that the two parties would not continue the sporting adventure together. next season.

In view of this decision and in order to allow Stade de Reims to confidently look forward to the next financial year, it was also decided that Will Still and his deputy Nicolas Still would step down from their respective functions as of today.

Jean-Pierre Caillot, President of Stade de Reims: “Stade de Reims would like to thank Will and Nicolas Still for their investment and all these beautiful emotions experienced together. At the heart of a unique Club project, known and recognized for its ability to reveal all talents, we are proud to have been able to contribute to the emergence of a coach who knew how to impose his convictions and his playing identity. Will was one of the actors in the new cycle initiated in 2018, and has undoubtedly enabled the SDR to take another step forward, particularly in the context of the internationalization of the locker room. Will, Nico, the big Red and White family thanks you and wishes you the best for the rest of your careers. »

Will Still: “I thank Stade de Reims, President Caillot and Mathieu Lacour for giving me this unique opportunity and for supporting me throughout my journey here. I will be eternally grateful to Stade de Reims as well as everyone involved directly or indirectly with the club. I would like to thank in particular all the players with whom I was able to work, all the technical, performance, analytical, medical staff as well as the stewards, but also and above all all the supporters of this wonderful club. Our 19-match unbeaten streak last season as well as the spectacular matches at Delaune will remain unique moments for me. Delaune and Champagne will always have a special place in my life and I will remain the number one supporter of the Rouge et Blanc. »

if i'm reading that right, thats means stepping down today ?

If Still's contract is as iron clad as it has been suggested, this might not affect things too much. If there was compensation to be paid, we'd likely still need to pay it.

Trying to remember who this happened with recently. Really surprised me that a club had binned a manager and was still demanding compensation to let him out of his contract.

Having read into both I think I'd prefer Maric, however the timing of this is interesting. Especially with an imminent appointment being rumoured.

I feel sorry for Still abit, Reims form has fell off a cliff since we were linked before Beale. I think that's definitely effected him and his group.

Sounds like all parties have agreed he won't be there next season so might aswell step down as of today?

If its Still we have lined up he could be announced in next couple days now?
