Makes sense as if he exploded and hit a run of form they could've got £5m+ for him And fair play to the recruitment team, it's proper scouting to bring in a kid that's not featuring for a side in a league that's worse than ours and to get a tune out of him
He’s very raw, but I think he’s been playing catch up fitness and sharpness wise in his spell here which I hope causes the quite glaringly obvious technical flaws. A pre season can make a huge difference, he’s got poachers instinct, a big frame so can bully defenders as well as being lightning quick. Given his age, he’s also got huge potential for sell on value too which we need to replace given Greaves being out the door and likely Philogene too
Ohio reminds me a bit of Chuba Akpom - obvious talent but almost seems to want it a bit too much. Akpom calmed that down and went on to have a decent career.
I was skeptical as it seemed they'd gone a bit Football Manager and just chucked Delap's profile into a computer and tried to find a comparative player (which is funny because he's not really that similar to Delap) from somewhere random, but it does look like it's working out. And full credit as well to Rosenior, it shows he really can improve players if given time and patience if they want to improve. Compare and contrast to Ebiowei.
Got to give Ohio credit too, must’ve been difficult scoring the winner at Rotherham then being out the squad for the next 3 games. He’s not similar to Delap in possession but he does have good movement, stretches teams by pulling wide. Which given the time period by which we had to bring someone in, they didn a good job
He was highly rated at Pompy and lost his way a little a bit. Very similar to Connolly but maybe wants it more. Sometimes it’s more about how much drive they have rather than their ability. Bowen for instance, he never stops.
2 goals in 2 games but let’s not get too carried away with Ohio. I’m still not convinced he would stand out over an extended run in the team, should we sign him. I just don’t think he has the close ball control to play the role properly and our game doesn’t really suit him, but he’s a unit and gives us an extra option and something a bit different. Which is better than just signing lots of similar strikers and making like for like changes when we’re struggling to perform IMO.
Yep would be a great signing, never really lived up to the hype at Celtic when he broke through as a 13 year old. Had a really good season at Blackpool playing as an out and out right winger, I'd have him if the price was right and Stade Brestois don't act like a load of tits about it.
I think Chris Willock and Karamoko Dembélé would be very good signings for the wings as replacements for Philogene.
Not impressed by Willock the other week....Jamie Paterson at Swansea is okay, but now 32 years of age. Perhaps Sorba Thomas (25) from Udders, might be a better option, though noticed he got dropped yesterday.
I still can't see Philogene leaving. I just don't see who is going to come in for him. The only scenarios I can see are Palace if Eze and Olise go to bigger clubs and they come in for Jaden, or a foreign club from somewhere like the Bundesliga will come in with a bid.
So longman Sinik Simons and vaughan all return this summer and have contracts till atleast 2025 Do any stay next season? Vaughan is miles off it Simons difficult,, he had a very bad injury Think another loan would be best Any money we make for sinik is good Longman? Worth keeping? Will he want to be more of a bench player? Been a regular for millwall
