"At the weekend, the cross at the near post where he nearly scores, I think he’s now starting to get in better areas and part of it, having Twiney helps that; you see the relationship between them building, the link-up is massive"

    An interesting comment.
Does it mean 'Twiney' is staying ?
Like to see both here next season.....obviously for the right price.

I don’t think it will be Twine, I think Burnley will price him out of reach or value plus he will be on good wages with Burnley. Unless we come to a deal regarding loan for a year it won’t be him. Someone else in that mould maybe.
I think also they talk about this number nine which will be all our transfer fund, but I think we will use the loan market more as LM is not like Nige in that way. Which to me was IMO one of his faults and stubbiness. A few loans could and would have other seen that injury issue he went through with a slightly bigger squad. Taylor Hickman wasn’t really a loan it was a try before you buy stop gap for losing Scott at the end of the window.

Agree about Twine, he hasn’t done enough to warrant being a marquee signing, and Burnley won’t let him go for what we’ll
    be prepared to pay imo.

In relation to loans I agree with NP personally. In the main they are expensive , where possible I’d much rather we use academy players. Part of the reason so many have come through recently is due to us not using loans.

I know I was in the minority, but I even felt similar when Tammy was here, especially towards the end. Don’t get me wrong I loved watching him play, and progress, I’m also aware he possibly helped us stay up that season, but it was always tempered by the knowledge he wasn’t ours.

Imo, I think Nige is an excellent club manager, what lets him down is his first team coaching side of things..He’s obviously very good at overseeing what goes on, in and around the club and how to make it tick. But I think he lacks the modern way football is played nowadays or bringing out the best in players.. this was witnessed in his Leicester days, when he did setup the structure but then Ranieri & Shakespeare took the team on to a different level..

Bringing out the best in players was one of his biggest strengths how else do you explain the improvement in so many of our players during his tenure, Pring, Vyner, Max, Semenyo, Scott, Bell, Conway, Tanner, the list goes on, he also identified the ones that weren’t capable of progression, Bakinson springs to mind. Nige had faults, stubbornness is one that springs to mind, but not bringing out the best in players isn’t one of them, far from it.

I think his biggest problem was home form, away we were fine, for some reason he couldn’t translate it to playing at home. Maybe because we were, and still are, better when teams come at us, which lends itself to playing better away, as teams feel they want to attack more to keep their fans happy.

But we also had this stupid way after going a goal up....sitting back.....don't tell me that's not true, as I watched it change so many times.....
We start off with good possession, possibly get a goal and then allow the opposition full control......used to boil my piss everytime I witnessed it

I wouldn’t tell you it wasn’t true because it is true, I’ve already said previously it used to annoy me as well, it’s one thing I do prefer about LM. (again something I’ve said previously). I’ve never said Nige was perfect, but he was treated Badly at the end.

The Lansdown’s have put a lot of money into the club, well SL has, but the way Nige was treated imo highlights why we haven’t progressed under their tenure. At board level we aren’t professional enough. In truth that lack of professionalism has probably cost him more in the long run, because set up properly there’s no reason we couldn’t be in a similar position to Brighton.

If you listened to the pod you won’t need me to tell you, listen to him. He says himself he’s not a head coach, he can and has coached, but that’s not his role, Clough wasn’t a coach either, I know times have changed but the principle is still the same.
