So, E-mailed the club regarding our 'Africa appeal' on Monday, and have still heard nothing back, even something to acknowldege reciept. For me, this is suprising, and more than a little insulting. Ok to go on talk shows having a dip at the fans, then us the fans put a worthy nd credible plan together, to help the club AND others, and no interest. Niall, get talking to your staff, and the people behind SAFC.com, to recieve no response to an appeal of this nature is PR dog turd.
To be quite honest, BB, it doesn't surprise me one bit. Just as a matter of interest, does anyone know if Mr Quinn has a new Communications Director? Or Spin Doctor, should I say? Seems like there's been a definite change in attitude of late.
It's a poor show on the clubs part. Is SAFC.com directly ran by the club, or is it third party, does anyone know? I'll maybe try calling the PR department, but i'm out of the country from Monday, so i'd need to give someone else as a point of contact till the 9th.
No, sad to say I'm not surprised, I cantacted all the northeast clubs when we heard 606 was closing asking for any advice or help in setting up a replacement. Did not expect them to rush to help but not one reply, not one from SAFC,NUFC,BORO, DARLO, HUFC. Even a bog standard sorry but cant help would have been nice. I bet if it goes well and the PM wants to see you lads on a visit to the north, guess who will be there shaking your hands?
SAFC.com isn't run by the same people that run SAFC, I'm pretty sure an outside company are responsible for everything. EDIT: Apparently, it is. A strange one indeed.
Cheers mate. So before i slate my beloved club, i will call the number for the PR team on safc.com. I'll make sure they know i think there a bunch of hoops as well, we've gona above the average to try and help the club, promote the club, it seems absurd that they'd not even acknowledge our efforts.
How about raising the project's profile and getting the clubs attention by contacting the Echo at "[email protected]" ?
Chris Stewart, Chief Reporter of BBC Newcastle is a big Sunderland fan. It might be worth while contacting him.
Left BA my friend, so i didn't have to work weekends ever again. I now work, effectively, for every airline on the planet, which i have to say has it's challenges. Imagine trying to tell a Frenchman, in English, that you needed to arrange a limo, for a Russian, who speaks Italian. That's the kinda **** i have to co-ordinate. Has it's moments
If/when i get a response mate, will do, i'll keep you posted. Someone needs to keep the interest up while i'm away, Roger and Ballin will be on it, and there's a facebook group started by some Kenyans!
We won't let it drop mate, i'd guess we're looking at 50 or so units as a minimum, that's gonna really help a village in Africa, and that's before we've pushed it beyond this site. It's quite a remarkable effort.
