Ok. I'll try one last question and see if you can actually answer one: Let's say that a far right mayor of a town decides he doesn't like the views that a scheduled far left meeting is likely to express. A meeting with speakers that you would no doubt agree with like, let's say, Jeremy Corbyn. So the mayor decides to ban the meeting because he views their views as "crackpot", "extreme" etc. Would you support this action from the mayor as you do in the instance we're discussing?
You’re wasting your time, Col. Anybody Toby disagrees with is Far Right, racist and vile. Like many on that side of the divide, Toby has been elevated to a higher plane where he is able to read and anticipate the thoughts of those with whom he disagrees, which gives him the right to shut them down without debate.
Of course, free speech has limits. And the Belgium conference was breaking any hate laws. Nor was there any dissent or trouble, before or after the police turned up. The Belgium Court has now come down in favour of the conference organisers, against what is a communist Brussels mayor who, right in tune with Putinism, wanted to ban those whose views he disagreed with. You clearly don't believe in legal free speech. You've shown yourself to be an extremist. You hide you profile. I bet you go to Antifa marches wearing a mask.
Yeah, but that’s just because he’s ugly. Sorry, that’s probably hate speech and uglyophobic (or something) Mind you, I have a grin that curdles milk.
Did you see the list of speakers and their views? I'm not a Corbyn fanatic, strange that you'd think that. In your scenario I'd think the organisers are hosting it there to get media attention and paint themselves as victims, as Farage has done. They didn't ban the meeting btw. They stopped the rancid crowd from entering. See the difference?
I hide my profile? You're upset a far right conference was mildly inconvenienced, I'm just laughing at people rushing to defend them.
I'm not defending the people wanting to attend the meeting, I'm defending legal free speech. Uber was spot on about you. This is a waste of time.
Defend the right of far right ****s to hold a conference if you want. I'll defend the right of a local authority to block an event they don't want to happen.
If the far left event is calling migration 'a cancer', hating on gay people and such then yes, I'd support the local authorities stopping them from having it.
